Mama Mia heard the confidence in Shurry's tone, and a feeling of trust seemed to take over. "Heh, alright kid, I'll humor you this time. Still, stop eating that stuff raw." She said, and went to work on the meal prep.
"I can always go get more if you need it, what's the problem?" Shurry asked, acting oblivious.
"You're making the others salivate too much. Just look at that scene there, such a cute girl salivating over raw meat…" Mama Mia said, pointing it out, then realized there were many more people than she thought. "Huh, there's more…"
"Of course there are, there aren't many of us beast people who can resist the allure of raw meat, it's just… So good." Shurry laughed. "Don't worry everyone I was able to bring back the other bits too. We can indulge for a while before dinner is ready." He said, revealing the platform full of the innards.
The speed of the beast people's reaction was so fast, it felt impossible, they were all over there devouring the innards with gusto. Everyone else looked over with shock once more.
"It really is a different digestive system, isn't it?" Bell chuckled nervously.
Finn was also nervously chuckling at the sight. "Elves hardly ever touch meat, animal people devour it like their next meal isn't guaranteed." He said.
"I don't appreciate that sentiment." Riveria said, then sighed. "I'm going to take a bath." She started walking off.
Leon was chuckling at the sight of animal and beast people, then blinked, and looked over to Ottar who wasn't participating in the devouring. "And why aren't you over there?" He asked.
"Hmm? I don't eat raw meat." Ottar stated. "I prefer Mama Mia's cooking."
"Heh, even you call her that?"
"Yes, food is important. The chef is the most important member of the familia." Ottar nodded.
"Ottar, come here dear." Freya called out. Standing next to her was Heith who was currently still struggling to comprehend the speed Shurry displayed in recent hours, holding a serving plate with update tools.
"Good luck Ottar, you'll feel different soon." Leon chuckled.
"How is it?" Ottar asked.
"Interesting? I think… It's hard to say." Leon answered to a retreating Ottar.
While dinner was cooking up, the gods began to follow through with the instructions Shurry had given them during one of the moments they were alone together. "When we arrive on the 66th floor, take a break, and then update everyone's status. Use everything they have stored up, leave nothing behind. Then eat, and prepare them for the mental hell that will soon begin." This is exactly what they were doing at the moment. With the exception of just a handful of people…
Dinner was held returning everyone to their full energy, and healing their minds. Which was when Leon spoke up to ask. "Shurry, just how fast are you? The speed you used against that weird creature, I couldn't even see you move."
"Hmm? That's just a portion of how fast I can move. By the time we're done down here, even Haruhime will be able to see that speed. And move at least half as fast." Shurry answered, with a yawn. "I've had to do some crazy things in my timeline… Now then, you'll have 30 minutes after dinner to prepare yourselves. Then… Well, I'll tell you what the first warm up will be." He grinned, causing everyone but Bell to gulp. "Oh, and no asking Bell what kind of training we're doing. If anyone does, I promise that you'll earn 999 points in Vitality as punishment before you can apologize." He stated, making it very clear not to screw around.
"Is that possible?" Ottar asked.
"Do you want to be first?" Shurry asked. "I promise you, that it isn't training. And you won't even see it happen, but you'll certainly feel it." He said with a smile.
"I guess it's possible then." Leon laughed.
Some light conversation took over, though one topic that came up was the juggernaut, and basically everything about it. Everyone made an agreement to not summon that thing on purpose, and if any accidental summons happened, Shurry said he'd deal with it.
Dinner had been enjoyable, but it ended, and so too did the rest time afterwards. Everyone was ready in their full gear, staring into a wide open field where Shurry stood.
"Your first warm up exercise is the following…" Shurry said with a single finger raised, and a wild grin. "Fight me with everything you have, hold nothing back! Bring all of your abilities, and powers to bear. Everything you can possibly think of." He declared, releasing just a tiny portion of his pressure… Significant enough to make everyone instinctively begin sweating, but so insignificant to him he might as well be napping. "Come, if you can't handle this pressure, you'll just die fighting the dragon. No… It won't be a fight, it'll just be another slaughter."
Bell was the first to move, ignoring the sweat and went on the offensive. Leon and Ottar followed after, then Finn and all the others newly leveled up to 7, and so on. The melee below was a maelstrom of attacks and magic.
The gods watched from above the ridge as the mind, body and soul of their children were being reforged with the intensity and speed of a hero recognized by Chaos. Freya couldn't keep herself dry seeing all of the clashing souls, constantly being on the edge of her seat.
Like he had done in his timeline, Shurry made sure to push them all as far as he could, figuring out where each and every single one of them really could go. Also getting in pot shots whenever people kept making the same mistakes.
With so many attackers, it should have been possible to control the flow of the fight, or at least catch him off guard. However, Shurry didn't even blink, let alone flinch. Instead, he controlled the entire maelstrom, purposely creating gaps for the others to take advantage of, and then prove to them why they should have been the ones to create the opening, by sending them flying back, most of the time into the supports, or other mages.
The pain everyone experienced was immense, but Shurry's light made it impossible for anyone to suffer for long, if at all.
