Axel looked at Jayvaughn without a single flicker of guilt in his eyes. He leaned back against the sofa cushions, his expression a mask of feigned innocence as he doubled down on his story.
"You are the one who prevented me from calling Jaimie all this while," Axel said, his voice smooth and accusatory.
"You literally took my phone away, making it impossible for me to reach him. Now Jaimie is genuinely hurt because he thinks I ignored him, so I have no choice but to tell him the truth about exactly what you have done."
