"I am trying to tell you this," Axel began, simplifying the data analysis further. "There really was a power surge, yes, but its signature was a pure, surgicaldraw. There was no electronic noise, no chaotic pump cycling, no variance in the power load that would indicate multiple pieces of equipment spooling up at different times. It was a single, perfect hum, a flawless sine wave."
He paused, letting the implication sink in before delivering the chilling conclusion.
"That is not a server's cooling system starting up. That kind of perfect, sustained power delivery is only required by a highly specialized piece of equipment. It is consistent with a lab grade linear accelerator, a device used to accelerate particles to extremely high speeds for research or, more commonly, military application."
