Axel watched the six men closely from his perch in the thick canopy. He was patient. All he needed was for them to move closer toward the tree, creating a tighter formation so he could ambush them all at once.
As he watched, Axel saw the six men split up, organizing themselves to search different parts of the dense forest carefully.
Axel simply watched on, cold and detached. He knew it was only a matter of time before they discovered the proof of the recent kills.
Sure enough, it didn't take long. The six men soon discovered the four corpses that Axel had killed earlier.
They immediately stopped their search and all gathered back together around the bodies. Axel could clearly see the frowns on their faces even from his distance, an obvious mix of confusion and mounting alarm. They quickly started discussing among themselves.
