Later that night, after Lucian had left, the apartment fell into a comfortable silence. Jayvaughn was sitting on the bed, focused on his laptop screen, fingers tapping at the keys. Axel had just stepped out of the bathroom, freshly showered and drying off with a towel slung around his neck. His damp hair clung to his forehead and temples, and water still glistened on his skin.
Jayvaughn looked up the moment he heard the bathroom door click shut. Without a word, he closed the laptop, stood up, and walked over to the dresser to grab the hair dryer. Axel raised an eyebrow but said nothing. When Jayvaughn motioned for him to sit, Axel obeyed, plopping down on the edge of the bed.
The warm air from the dryer began to blow through his hair, and Axel closed his eyes, quietly enjoying the attention. There was something intimate and soothing about how gentle Jayvaughn was being.
"Tomorrow's Sunday," Axel said softly, eyes still shut. "Can we go pick up Jaimie from my parents?"
