Lucian held the thin, skin-like chip between his fingers, his brows furrowing as he turned it over curiously. "So... what exactly does this gift do?" he asked, eyeing Jayvaughn.
Jayvaughn got up from his seat without a word. Calmly, he walked over and placed a larger chip on Lucian's palm. With a gentle press, he smoothed it against Lucian's skin until it melted seamlessly into his palm, almost disappearing from sight. Then, he took one of the smaller chips from the box and carefully inserted it into Lucian's ear. Jayvaughn did the same to himself, fitting a chip in his ear and one into his own palm.
Satisfied, he gave Lucian a small nod. "I'm going outside now," Jayvaughn said casually. "Whatever you want to say to me, just speak into your palm."
