Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 : blueprint

Liam knelt beside the dead beast. "Extract," he said.

As the word left his mouth, the Fang Wolf's body vanished into a swirl of glowing particles, vanishing into the air like dust caught in sunlight.

A soft notification chimed in his mind.

[System Notification]

The host has obtained the following loot from a C-Rank Fang Wolf.

Wolf Meat ×60

C-Rank Token ×1

Level 1 Wall Blueprint ×1

His brows lifted at the final line, a Blueprint?

"A blueprint?" he murmured, pulling the glowing scroll from his inventory. It shimmered faintly in his palm. "I can obtain blueprints from the extraction?"

He didn't know how to obtain construction blueprints until now.

So they could drop from the beasts. That changed everything.

But he knew enough not to get too excited. If blueprints dropped, the rate had to be low. This might've just been his luck.

He stood, scanning the blood-streaked clearing.

Henry and Noah stood watch by his sides, blades drawn. Around them, other subjects moved the slain Fang Wolves into a pile for extraction.

Liam took a deep breath, focusing again on the task.

"Let's see if I can get another rare drop," he muttered, eyes locked on the next target.

The process repeated.

Liam's eyes landed on the notification.

[System Notification]

The host has obtained loot from defeating 20 D-Rank Fang Wolves.

Wolf Meat ×600

D-Rank Token ×20

Wolf Fangs ×40

He let out a sigh. No blueprints. No special items.

"Damn," he muttered. "Looks like rare drops only appear with C-Rank or higher beasts."

A low growl sliced through the forest.

Liam froze.

B-Rank. He felt the presence before he saw anything.

A wave of pressure rippled outward, primal and suffocating.

It sent shivers down everyone's spines—Henry and Noah included.

Still, Noah stepped forward instantly, positioning himself between Liam and the source of the aura.

Then a smooth, sultry voice chimed from the trees to their left.

"My lord, a B-Rank beast is being drawn in by the smell of blood. We need to retreat quickly," said Emma.

Liam gave her a nod, then turned to the others.

"Fall back now, move silently."

They obeyed immediately.

Liam didn't look back. He didn't need to see what it was. Whatever had come looking, it was a fight he wasn't ready for…and smart people knew when to walk away.

After ten tense minutes of nonstop movement, the trees began to thin, and soon his Territory came into view.

They had made it.

They passed through the shield with ease

Nothing followed.

Liam exhaled and glanced once more toward the forest.

Then his eyes fell on the shimmering dome above them, the protective shield encasing the Territory, faintly pulsing with pale blue energy.

He let out a sigh.

"One more day," he said quietly.

"Until the shield goes down?" Henry glanced over and asked with caution.

Liam nodded. "Yeah. One more day before we're wide open to whatever's out there."

"Good thing we found this," he said, drawing the blueprint from his inventory.

"However, we need to start building it fast."
