"There are many children in this settlement, so at the very least, show some manners here," I said firmly.
To my surprise, my words were enough to shut them up. Their protests died down into silence, their heads lowering as if they had been scolded by their own mother.
I let out a slow breath before speaking again. "Besides," I said, my gaze sweeping over them, "weren't most of you the same people who never believed I was your Luna in the first place? Isn't it a little too late to suddenly claim me now?"
These were the same men who had once shouted openly in front of me, calling me a fraud.
"We were wrong, Luna!" they cried out, bowing their heads even lower. None of them dared to meet my eyes, which was almost amusing because back then, no one had ever shown me this much respect.
