Chapter 1 - The Awakening of the Unseen Path

The World of Eryndor

The world of Eryndor was vast, with sprawling continents and rich, diverse ecosystems, each harboring its own mysteries. From the towering peaks of the Vyrn Mountains, where dragons once roamed freely, to the endless forests of Mirathar, where enchanted beasts were said to lurk, the world had always been full of wonder. But it wasn't just the land that made Eryndor a place of legends — it was the people.

In Eryndor, every citizen was granted a class at the age of sixteen — a mysterious and magical gift that defined their role in the world. These classes, a source of both power and responsibility, were the cornerstone of Eryndor's societal structure. They came from ancient forces, woven into the fabric of the world itself, and were believed to have originated from a long-forgotten event known only as The Convergence.

The Convergence, thousands of years ago, was the cataclysmic event where the gods of Eryndor, in their efforts to create a world where mortals could thrive, imbued the land and its creatures with the power to evolve. This power became known as the Essence of the Divine, and from it, the first classes emerged. The ability to wield magic, control elements, and even commune with nature was granted to those chosen by fate. And though the gods no longer walked among them, the essence of this divine event remained, granting classes to each generation.

Classes could manifest in many ways. A person's class might reflect their ancestry, their upbringing, their actions, or even the will of the gods themselves. The system had evolved over millennia, creating a rigid yet diverse structure that governed everything in Eryndor, from its economies to its wars.

How Classes are Given

At the age of sixteen, each citizen of Eryndor undergoes a grand ceremony known as the Revelation Rite, held at the central temple of each city-state. The Rite is a mystical ritual performed by the Seers, ancient figures of great power who use magical relics passed down through generations to awaken a person's class.

Upon stepping forward, an individual's bloodline and history are called into account. The Seers channel the essence of the world, aligning the person's fate with the divine currents that flow through the planet. This connection manifests as a glowing sigil — the mark of their class — appearing on their skin, usually over their heart or palm, signifying their newfound role in life.

The classes are divided into several broad categories:

Common Classes: These are classes that nearly everyone receives — the foundation of society's workforce. Examples include Warrior, Farmer, Merchant, and Healer. These classes are reliable, steady, and provide vital support to the kingdom, though they are not especially powerful in terms of magic or extraordinary abilities.

Uncommon Classes: These are classes that, while not unheard of, are more specific and specialized. They often come with unique abilities that set their wielders apart. Some examples include Elementalist (control over elemental forces), Beast Tamer (ability to bond with and control animals), Ranger (expert tracker and archer), and Alchemist (master of potions and crafting). Uncommon classes can grant great power but typically require years of study and refinement.

Rare Classes: These are the classes that set individuals apart as true elites. Only a select few will ever acquire a rare class, and those who do are seen as prodigies. Summoner, Necromancer, Arcane Scholar, and Beast Lord are all rare classes. They offer abilities that allow their users to command armies of the undead, control the elements at their will, or even summon otherworldly creatures to fight for them. Rare classes are often sought by kingdoms and organizations to gain an advantage in warfare, diplomacy, or research.

Legendary Classes: Few in history have ever achieved a Legendary Class. These classes are considered gifts from the gods themselves. They transcend all others, offering abilities that can reshape the world itself. Divine Paladin, Archmage, and Worldshaper are but a few examples. To acquire such a class, an individual must be chosen by fate, undergo trials of unimaginable difficulty, and prove themselves worthy of divine power.

Each person's class rank is determined by a hidden system within the class itself. Rank 1 is the starting point, and as individuals grow in strength and wisdom, their class may evolve into higher ranks, unlocking new abilities and greater power.

Maxiel Verros: The Quiet Son of Eryndor

Maxiel Verros, known simply as Max, was an ordinary boy in a world of extraordinary possibilities. Born in the quiet village of Thornhill, nestled at the edge of the Mirathar Forest, Max had never expected much. His family was humble — his father, a blacksmith, and his mother, a healer. They were not of noble blood, and they had no special history of magic or combat prowess. Max's life had been simple, filled with the rhythms of daily life: helping his father in the forge, assisting his mother with herb gathering, and learning the basic skills necessary to survive in the kingdom.

He had no notable talents, no particular skills that set him apart. And for a long time, he had accepted that. He had heard stories of great warriors, mighty wizards, and powerful leaders, but none of them had come from families like his.

Max was seen as an average citizen, someone destined for an Uncommon Class at best, perhaps a Herbalist or Beast Tamer, if he was lucky. He had no illusions of grandeur.

But Max's heritage was not as simple as it seemed. His father had always told him stories of an ancient bloodline, one that was once powerful but had long since faded into obscurity. He had inherited a name that had once been whispered in the halls of nobility, but it had been lost to time. Max often wondered if those tales had been little more than stories — something his father used to fill the silence of long evenings by the hearth.

In his community, Max was viewed as an unremarkable young man. His peers expected him to receive an Uncommon Class, and most thought that his future would be spent in the family forge, learning the craft of blacksmithing. There were whispers, of course — a few rumors passed along by those who didn't know him well. Some said that the boy might receive a Rare Class, but such things were far-fetched. A Creature Tamer or even a Beast Master, but nothing more.

Max was content with this. He didn't seek attention, nor did he aspire to the great and the powerful. All he wanted was a quiet life, one that followed in the footsteps of those before him.

The Revelation Rite

The day Max turned sixteen, the Revelation Rite arrived. It was an event that had loomed over him his entire life — the moment that would shape his future. His family had prepared him as best they could, but there was a nervous excitement in the air. His father had been anxious, though he didn't show it. His mother, ever the optimistic one, whispered gentle encouragement, telling him that no matter what happened, he would always have a place with them.

Max, however, could not shake the unease that settled in his stomach as he walked to the temple. The Rite of the Revelation was a grand occasion, held in the great temple of Eryndor's Capital. People came from all corners of the kingdom to witness the ceremony, and Max had always wondered what it would be like to stand there, surrounded by so much power.

When his turn finally came, the Seers — ancient mages whose job it was to summon a person's class — beckoned him forward. Their robes shimmered with ethereal light, their faces obscured by shadows as they prepared the magical relics.

Max stepped up, the crowd watching him intently. For a moment, he could hear only the pounding of his own heart. The Seers began their incantations, their hands raised as they drew upon the ancient forces of the land. Max closed his eyes, not knowing what to expect, but feeling a strange energy building inside him.

Then, the moment came.

A New Path

The revelation was not what Max had expected. Instead of the Uncommon Class he had assumed, a power unlike anything he had ever heard of surged through him. The words "Biomancer of the Bound Flesh" echoed in his mind.

The crowd was silent. Whispers began to ripple through the masses.

"Biomancer of the Bound Flesh?"

It was a class unknown to most — one that had never been seen in the kingdom before. Some murmured in fear, others in disbelief. Max, too, was left speechless. He had no idea what this class meant, nor how it would shape his life. But he was certain of one thing: his life, from this moment forward, would never be the same.
