He apprenticed under a retired, disabled old mercenary in the village, learning a simple Breathing Technique. After activating his inner Fighting Qi seed with this technique, the old mercenary recommended him to the city to become a Mercenary Apprentice.
In the blink of an eye, decades passed. During this time, Gory killed thieves, slew Magic Beasts, and explored various ruins left by the strong. By chance, he acquired a potion crafted by a Wizard, which allowed him to successfully break through to the Silver Level.
However, that potion consumed the body's potential to gain Level advancement, meaning Gory could hardly progress further from then on.
