Chapter 12 - "The Prison Beyond Scenarios”

Dream's voice echoed faintly in Ron's mind.

"Wait, Ron… please save me first."

Ron slowed his pace, his expression tightening. "Where can I find you?" he asked silently.

"I'm trapped here… You noticed how I can only speak to you briefly? This place is suppressing me. I can speak only because of you… Ron, please, he—"

Her voice faded completely.

Ron turned sharply toward Sami. "Is there anyone else trapped here?"

Before Sami could answer, purple translucent screens materialized in front of them.

The messages vanished.

Ron faced Sami again.

Sami's expression darkened. "I'm sorry, Ron. I can't help you with that."

Ron grabbed the edge of Sami's cloak. "Please, Sami. She's important to me."

Sami narrowed his eyes, a faint smirk appearing. "She? You've never gone this far for any random woman."

"She's my wife," Ron said.

Sami froze. "Your what?"

Carter, still recovering, shot upright. "Wife?! Did he just say wife?!"

Rad, who had just entered the hallway, doubled over laughing.

"If ugly man like you can have wife so can I"

Rad said

Ron muttered under his breath, "You jerk."

Sami finally sighed. "Alright. There are people trapped here. But I don't know where exactly. I've only heard whispers… There are two women. One is the daughter of the Watcher of the Universe. The other is his right-hand man's daughter. Both powerful. Both trapped for centuries."

"Why?" Ron asked.

Sami shook his head. "No clue. They're stuck in the darkness that exists before a scenario begins." He turned to Rad. "You can take him there."

Rad looked uneasy. "Why'd you tell him in front of everyone?" he whispered to Sami.

"Help Ron," Sami insisted. "He's our old friend."

Rad groaned. "Dimension travel is hard on my body…"

Carter spoke up. "He's trying to save his wife."

Rad sighed. "Fine. Ron, I'll help you."

Ron hesitated. "Th… thanks."

Rad motioned toward his shoulder. "Place your hand here."

Carter stepped up and placed his hand on Rad's other shoulder. Rad closed his eyes.

Reality warped. Time bent. They tore through dimensions, timelines, and parallel universes before reappearing in the familiar hallway.

A swirling, unstable portal rippled into existence.

"Hurry up and enter the damn portal," Rad grunted.

As they stepped forward, Sami asked, "Why did you make them touch your shoulder? You can open portals freely."

Rad smirked. "I was exhausted. I borrowed a sliver of their power to stabilize us while drifting through multiversal currents. Once I recovered, I created the portal."

They landed in a vast, colorless plain—flat, endless, and lifeless.

"This must be the place," Carter said.

"Looks like a prison for gods," he added.

Ron stepped forward and felt resistance—an invisible wall. He pushed his Ki into it.

A booming voice echoed across the void.

RECOGNIZING KI/VOICES

CHARACTER RECOGNIZED

WELCOME, RON

Ron frowned. "How does it know me?"

Carter glanced at him. "You sure you've never been here before?"

"First time," Ron replied.

They continued forward. Another barrier dissolved before them.

A door materialized.

They exchanged a look.

"Let's go," Carter said.

Inside, they found a sleek, futuristic apartment—cold, minimal, and strangely calm.

Two women stood before them, clearly startled.

Ron whispered, "Dream…"

One woman had glowing purple eyes and was wrapped in white cloth from head to toe. The other looked familiar, but Ron couldn't immediately place her.

Dream's voice echoed in Ron's mind: "Thanks for finding me, Ron."

The Dream in Ron's mind stepped toward the woman in white. At the same time, the real Dream moved forward. Their hands touched.

A burst of radiant light filled the room.

When it faded, only one Dream remained—the purple-eyed one.

The second woman looked toward Carter. She started to run to him, then stopped abruptly, conflicted.

Dream turned to Ron. "No need to be shocked. The original me split into three. One stayed in your mind. One was trapped here. The third… I don't know where she is. But now, two of us are whole again."

Ron pointed toward the other woman. "And her?"

"That's future Lia," Dream said calmly. "She comes from a timeline where Carter died. In that world… she was his wife."

"Future?" Ron blinked.

"Ask her later," Dream replied gently. "She deserves time with him."

She faced Ron again. "Thank you. I always knew we'd meet."

Ron softened. "No… thank you—for staying with me when I needed you most."

They walked back through the fading doorway.

Ron teleported everyone to Sami's house.

They parted ways there.

Ron left with Dream—keeping up the lie he had told.

Lia remained behind with Carter, having waited lifetimes to see him again.
