Chapter 68 - Chapter 68 ( Rocky (1))

World of Dark Souls

The throne room was cloaked in shadows, its walls breathing with the weight of forgotten wars. At its center sat Wulkranoth, his form draped across the blackened throne. His eyes burned with a weary fire, the kind only ancient beings carried.

Thomas stepped forward, his footsteps echoing softly against the cracked stone floor. He bowed his head, then raised his voice.

"We will have the stones soon. Gudango already took them from Gravo without him ever realizing. Finally, the time is near. Our revenge will be complete. But, my dear counterpart… what happens after we kill the Watcher?"

For a moment, silence pressed against the room. Then Wulkranoth inhaled deeply, his chest rising like a mountain.

"After the Watcher falls, greater threats will follow," he rumbled. "You know this as well as I do. We are nothing but pawns in the hands of higher beings—Beyonders who could erase us with a single thought."

Thomas watched as his other half's gaze darkened, lost in memory.

"Do you know why we rise against him?" Wulkranoth asked, his tone heavy. "It is not only for vengeance on him. Its the revenge on system. The Watcher, Once… once we called the Watcher brother."

The words echoed like a curse.

"How did it come to this?" Wulkranoth muttered, his voice cracking like dry earth his face under his right fist, "What sin did we commit that he turned his blade upon us?"

Thomas's lips tightened.

"If I recall correctly, it was the Queen who gave the orders. We merely obeyed. How could we have known she was a serpent within his home, forever weaving plots against him?"

"The Watcher never believed our innocence," Wulkranoth growled, his voice like thunder rolling through the chamber. "Instead, he sought to destroy us. And you, Tell me, Thomas—did you go to Ricky Racon for aid?"

Thomas's hands curled into fists. His voice seethed with venom.

"Yes. That bastard didn't even answer me. He simply turned and walked away. One day… one day I will kill him."

Wulkranoth shook his head slowly, his expression carved from stone.

"Even at the height of our strength, we could not so much as scratch him."

"Why?" Thomas demanded.

"Because it was Ricky Racon who caged all the Diegetic-level beings in the Forbidden Part of the Universe," Wulkranoth said grimly. "He is not one to be challenged lightly."

Thomas narrowed his eyes, but his voice remained steady.

"Then we must seize the power hidden beneath the Watcher's throne. That throne conceals the essence of Absolute Omnipotence. With it, we can pierce the Crack of Scenarios itself… and stand against Ricky Racon."

At those words, Wulkranoth rose. The shadows recoiled as if afraid of his towering form. His voice rolled like thunder through the dark hall.

"I seek no harm to the multiverse. I desire only a world where all can live without chains. With Absolute Omnipotence, I will erase hate, jealousy, war—every poison that stains existence. I will forge a paradise of eternal life. No Beyonders. No Outers. No rulers lording over us. Only peace. Only love. Only happiness."

His burning eyes fixed upon Thomas.

"Now… bring me Liam."

Without hesitation, Thomas vanished into the living world.

At that very moment, Carter's blade struck down Liam. As the fallen warrior staggered, Thomas emerged from the shadows. He raised his hand and, with a single strike to the neck, sent Liam collapsing into unconsciousness.

Hero Town – Present

The night air was thick with smoke and blood. Carter hung suspended in the center of the ruined class, bound tightly by ropes conjured from Thomas's sorcery. The ropes bit into his skin, and blood seeped steadily from the deep wound in his stomach, dripping onto the ground below.

Thomas stood before him, calm yet merciless.

"I'll ask one last time," he said coldly. "Join me. Ron has already chosen our side."

Carter's eyes widened for a heartbeat. Then his gaze hardened, burning with defiance.

"Ron? I don't believe you. Even if it's true… even if Ron has fallen—I'll never follow you."

Thomas's mouth curved into a faint smile.

"Too bad. I had hoped you would see reason. Fine, then. Rest in peace."

He raised his hand, his fingers twitching as the ropes shifted, ready to pierce Carter's body. But before he could strike, another rope coiled around his wrist and held him back.

Thomas turned, his eyes narrowing. Liam—though bound and bloodied—was still fighting. Black Sorcery flared around him as he forced the ropes to obey his will.

"You dare?" Thomas laughed, the sound cruel and sharp. "Do you think your tricks can restrain me?"

His body shimmered. The ropes sank uselessly through his form as he walked forward, incorporeal for a moment, until he stood directly before Liam. Carter could only watch, helpless, as Thomas wrenched the knife from Liam's trembling hand.

"Pathetic, I granted you this power and yet you choose to betray me." Thomas whispered, pressing the blade to Liam's chest.

The strike never landed. A sudden crash thundered from above, and the roof shattered. A massive fist plummeted from the sky.

Thomas jerked back, dodging at the last instant as stone and dust exploded around him. He staggered, eyes wide.

"You—how are you alive?"

Standing amidst the rubble was Future Lia, her expression fierce, her presence radiating raw power.

Before Thomas could recover, another blow came from behind. Locki's punch tore through the air, shattering the nearby buildings in a wave of force. The ground shook with the impact.

Thomas steadied himself, brushing the dust from his clothes as if nothing had touched him. His gaze rose. Around him, the circle closed—Locki, Bruce, and Future Lia stood united, and even Carter, though injured, struggled back to his feet.

They were together.

Thomas smiled.

"Even combined, you are nothing. Too weak to scratch me. Right now, only someone strong at the level of DA could defeat me."

With a flick of his wrists, blades appeared in both his hands, gleaming under the broken moonlight. He leveled them at the group, ready to strike—

And then his eyes shifted, catching a figure in the distance. Someone was watching.

Gravo Gonzalez.

Thomas froze, a flicker of unease flashing across his face. He lowered his weapons slowly.

"Well… another time, perhaps."

In the next instant, Thomas vanished into the shadows, dragging Liam with him. Silence fell over the ruins, leaving Carter and the others staring at one another in shock.

The Forbidden Part of the Universe

Far away, in a place where light itself dared not linger, Ron crouched behind the shattered remains of a statue. His body trembled; his breath came ragged and shallow. The air here pressed down on him, heavy with the presence of countless unfathomable beings.

Then, a whisper coiled into his mind.

(Black Heart: Calm yourself. If you panic, they'll sense you.)

Ron swallowed hard, but the fear wouldn't leave him.

Black Heart's voice continued, steady and sharp.

DA was present… and together, they were too much. They were holding back, just as I was.

Another voice replied, deep and commanding.

Fine. Then bring her when DA is gone. You may leave now.

Black Heart turned and faded into the darkness.

Ron remained frozen, panic clawing at him. Then a sudden system prompt flashed before his eyes:

[Your supporter "???" wishes to form a contract with you.]

"Contract?" Ron whispered desperately. "Yes—yes, anything. Just get me out of here!"

[Contract formed successfully.]

A shadow stirred. A figure emerged from the void—a man, or the shape of one, woven from pure darkness. His hand shot out like a spear, seizing Ron by the throat.

"Who are you?" the shadow demanded, his voice the same as the one that had commanded Black Heart.

Around them, other beings stirred. Countless eyes opened in the dark, watching.

Ron's vision blurred, until another voice cut through the silence.

"He is with me."

The grip around his throat loosened.

The shadow turned, his tone sharp.

"Keep your mess to yourself, Wulkranoth."

From the shadows, Wulkranoth stepped forward. His presence filled the air like a storm. The shadow man withdrew without another word, vanishing into the abyss.

Ron coughed, stumbling, as Wulkranoth's gaze settled on him.

"Long time, no see," Wulkranoth said, his voice calm, almost amused.
