"Wow!"
Moore spat out a mouthful of blood, staring at An Nishang in shock.
Chen Che was also staring at An Nishang's raised long, shapely leg, his face full of surprise.
So this is the crazy strong leg that he piggybacks on his shoulder every night…
Good thing An Nishang only ever likes to put her pretty jade feet on his face, or somewhere else, instead of kicking him with all her strength…
The sudden scene made everyone else in the room change their expressions.
Bobby, outside, was even more terrified.
Chen Che looked at the dazzling Other Shore Flower on An Nishang's thigh, slowly squatted down in front of Moore, and stared at him, saying, "Captain Moore, would you like to explain in detail for us—who exactly is this Natasha?"
The muscles on Moore's face twitched.
His eyes were shot through with red blood vessels.
He was staring so hard at Chen Che, it was like he wanted to kill him with his eyes.
Moore just couldn't figure out where Chen Che had learned about Natasha.
Seeing Moore just keep this expression and not say a word, everyone could tell, this Natasha was deeply involved in the matter.
Chen Che sighed and stood up, saying, "Captain Moore, so looks like you don't want to talk, huh. Well, nothing I can do… Actually, I don't know much more either.
I just happened to run into Captain Moore during the Phantom Night Tour, and he was hugging a woman with a killer body.
At first I just thought Captain Moore liked them like that.
But then I noticed, Captain Moore actually left the concert with that woman... Everyone knows Phantom Night's members never go out.
So I got curious—does Captain Moore have some incredible skills, or does this woman have some unique magic about her, to be able to make Captain Moore take her to the concert?
So I did a little poking around.
Captain Moore, you disguise yourself every week to go on dates with that woman, right? You really like her, don't you?
Her name's Natasha, and she seems to live in Room 703, Hailan Apartments, Seventh District?
If Captain Moore doesn't want to say it, then looks like we'll have to bring the woman here instead..."
Chen Che was completely making stuff up, mixing lies with a bit of truth.
The only reason he could piece together this intel was because as soon as he mentioned Natasha, Moore's over-the-top reaction gave it all away.
So he made up a whole backstory about how he got the inside scoop.
Moore was in no state to pick apart the details now anyway.
The others didn't really care how he got the intel, either.
As long as it sounded reasonable, it was enough.
What everyone wanted to know more was, who the hell was this Natasha to provoke such a reaction in Moore?
An Nishang spoke up without any hesitation: "Angduo, send someone and bring her to me."
Standing beside Xia Na was a tall, skinny man, the gleam of metal shining on his neck. He looked like he was from the Brazil region in the Old World—skin very dark, but not a black man.
He was one of An Nishang's four division captains.
A trusted confidant.
Angduo, who had witnessed the whole thing, nodded.
"No! No! She's got nothing to do with this, she doesn't know anything! Angduo!"
Moore suddenly screamed. He knew all too well what An Nishang was capable of—if Natasha was brought here, it would definitely be a fate worse than death.
Angduo's steps froze at once; seeing Moore like this, he couldn't help but feel a bit soft-hearted.
Seeing Moore's reaction, Chen Che knew he just needed to fan the flames a bit more. That should do the trick.
"Captain Moore, seems like this Natasha is really important to you. We want to hear your story with her—and, you know, all the rest…
No need to keep holding out. Even without evidence, the boss won't trust you now.
The boss already knows you've betrayed her…"
As soon as those words left his mouth—
Everyone present stared at Chen Che and An Nishang in shock, even An Nishang gave Chen Che a few more speculative looks.
[Huh? Is he serious? If Sis already knows, then what's the point of this whole show? Why not just gut this black man and get it over with?] Xia Na looked utterly puzzled, unable to wrap her head around it. That seemed to be what most of the others were thinking too.
[There's no way he knows about the intel I got from the Tasting Commerce Association's undercover… What does he mean by that?] came An Nishang's inner thought.
[Wha…what?!] Moore's heart gave a violent jolt.
Chen Che coughed twice, saying, "Let's just say, Captain Moore, you're dead no matter what today. You and the ones behind you have already fallen into the boss's public trap."
"The boss didn't kill you outright and instead sent me here to confront you because she's not absolutely sure you're the traitor—there's no hard evidence yet.
But my coming here? That itself is evidence.
My guess is, your whole plan had one fatal flaw—I'm still alive and didn't get strangled in anger by the boss.
Because of me, the boss started suspecting you.
So now no one knows what's going to happen in this standoff—you guys can't risk whether or not I have more proof against you.
Like how I found out about Natasha, for example.
So just to be safe, your best play was to make sure I kept my mouth shut before I got here.
Dead men tell no tales.
The boss is just waiting—if I get attacked on my way here, it means someone doesn't want to see me face off with you... Isn't that just classic plugging your ears and stealing a bell?
If I'm attacked, it proves you and your backers are panicking.
It proves you're guilty! Even if I died, the boss wouldn't let you off."
"So either way, you're dead. If you don't attack me and I get here alive, we end up with this situation anyway.
You're still doomed.
Attack me, and you're just being clever in the dumbest way. It's plugging your ears and stealing a bell all over again.
So however you look at it, you're toast today..."
Moore's pupils started to dilate.
Everyone felt a chill all over their bodies.
This was An Nishang's method.
Only Xia Na was stunned for a bit, her heart thumping faster.
[Sis is so smart… I really wanna hug her waist...and kiss her lips... Ugh...]
Damn pervy lesbian... Chen Che grumbled internally.
An Nishang was taken aback for a second, then curled her red lips into a smile.
[He's really gotten smarter, thinks even faster now… Do I need to strangle you one more time? Will that make you even smarter?]
Your mom's selling hemp... Chen Che kept his smile up, but cursed her out in his heart.
He glanced at Moore, ready to deliver the final blow: "So Captain Moore, the reason I've talked so much and dragged this out is because I'm 100% confident—the boss is on my side. This was just to make you slip up, and clearly, it worked."
"Even I didn't expect Natasha would shake you up this badly... So Captain Moore, no point holding out anymore. By now, all the cards are on the table, just confess.
Being honest gets you leniency, resisting will only make it worse.
You wouldn't want Miss Natasha hauled in here, would you?
It's just a matter of a little time, that's all."
Chen Che stood up—he'd done everything he could.
If this was a 100-point job, he'd done 120 percent.
He'd basically sharpened the blade for An Nishang himself.
After everything he'd said, all of An Nishang's confidants probably understood what was going on.
Anyone with eyes could see the black man was guilty.
An Nishang didn't even have solid proof, but if she killed the black man right in front of everyone, no one would say a word.
Thanks to all the groundwork Chen Che had laid.
Honestly, in a way, Chen Che even helped An Nishang cover up her undercover operation in Tasting Commerce Association.
