Ninth Special Zone.
Seventh Block Civilian District.
Most of the residents of Fuan Apartments were ordinary civilians.
The entire apartment complex consisted of seven connected buildings, crisscrossing to form over ten thousand rooms, with many shops lining the corridors.
It was an utterly typical slum.
Bearing a strong resemblance to the Kowloon Walled City often depicted in Hong Kong dramas.
Under the arrangement of An Nishang, the Chief of the Special Operations Department and Deputy Director of the Judicial Bureau, all key exits of Fuan Apartments were secured.
All the entrances and exits in the Seventh Block were guarded.
Xia Na wore a mask that covered half of her face, leaving only her piercing eyes exposed, with violet pupils flashing intensely.
An Nishang, wearing a red trench coat, stood below Fuan Apartments, looking up.
The surrounding members of the Special Operations Department all watched An Nishang, awaiting her command.
"Move in."
Hundreds of Special Operations members, under the lead of An Nishang's three major captains and Xia Na, dispersed into Fuan Apartments.
They quickly surrounded a particular room.
The target this time was the Natasha that Moore had mentioned.
A beguilement demon in the third stage of the Banshee Calamity.
An Nishang, having suffered such a great loss, would not let this beguilement demon escape.
Upon receiving the intelligence, the Special Operations Department quickly moved in for the siege.
…
Fuan Apartments, Room 7604.
The room was warmly decorated.
In stark contrast to the shabby and noisy state of the entire Fuan Apartments, this room was neat and tidy, filled with various Old World furniture.
A huge portrait hung in the living room.
In the picture was a brawny black man, holding a blonde, blue-eyed woman with a passionate look.
Here was the haven for Moore and Natasha.
In a place like Fuan Apartments, a den of mixed characters, Moore could find his peace.
The details in the room's setup showed that Moore had invested much effort.
One could even see fresh roses.
To spend a fortune to obtain such a useless decoration in the Wasteland demonstrated Moore's affection for Natasha.
The most terrifying thing about the beguilement demon.
Yet, at this moment inside the room.
The once clean floor was now scattered with various garments.
From the innermost room came the intentionally suppressed gasps of a woman in the throes of addiction.
And a man's increasingly rapid breathing.
The scent of hawthorn flowers floated in the air.
In the room, a woman rode atop a man, indulging in the most primal of desires; she had blonde hair and, upon closer inspection, looked identical to the image in the living room portrait.
Natasha, the beguilement demon.
"Ding~"
Natasha's pager sounded a notification.
"Baby, hand me my pager," Natasha said with a bewitching voice, caring little for the man's name beneath her, as they were merely two strangers who exchanged glances in a bar, each fulfilling a need.
In the Wasteland, moral concepts had been suppressed to the extreme.
It was not uncommon for men and women to vent emotions through physical relationships, often considered the cheapest means of emotional release.
One wonders what Moore would think if he saw this scene.
With a hint of a smile, the man passed Natasha a flip communicator from the bedside.
Identical to an Old World flip phone.
With physical buttons and a small screen.
Such a pager was capable of channel-hopping, preventing communication from being intercepted by the Ninth Special Zone's officials.
Natasha smiled as she flipped open the phone, her gaze settling on a single message.
[Moore is dead. An Nishang has located you. Run.
Natasha's pupils contracted, the man beneath her beamed excitedly, his muscles tensed as if nearing a peak.
As Natasha looked down, he thought she intended to kiss him, instinctively craning his neck, but Natasha instead bit into his neck.
In an instant, sharp white teeth emerged from Natasha's red lips, piercing the man's neck, causing him to open his eyes wide with terror and struggle with all his might, but the woman pinned him down, holding him still.
Blood poured into Natasha's mouth, dyeing her lips scarlet.
The man on the bed was drained of blood by Natasha in nearly ten seconds, leaving him a dried corpse.
Natasha's tongue slid across her lips, blood covering them.
BANG!
Almost the next second.
The door was forcefully kicked open.
The person who kicked it in didn't look before throwing in several flashbangs.
Flashbangs exploded, releasing a dazzling white light.
In the moment of their detonation, a slender silhouette darted into the room, her purple eyes locking onto Natasha, who was already crouched on the windowsill.
Two women's eyes met.
Xia Na drew the Tang Blade from her back, etched with strange patterns, blue electric light flashed over Xia Na, starting from her pale abdomen, a peculiar pattern spread upwards, gradually glowing with violet light.
Demon Pattern!
Xia Na swung the Tang Blade in a gesture, releasing a brilliant streak of lightning.
Xia Na controlled the amount to ensure it wouldn't char Natasha, yet limit her movement entirely.
But Natasha was even more reckless.
She leaped directly from a height nearing 70 meters.
The lightning strike missed the windowsill.
Xia Na hurried forward and looked down from the balcony, seeing Natasha free-falling in midair suddenly extend her arms.
The skin connecting her arms to her waist stretched into thin membranes, resembling wings, granting Natasha the power to glide.
Natasha agilely landed on the ground without sustaining any injury.
Natasha glanced back at Xia Na, a sneering smile curved her crimson lips as she raised a middle finger before darting into the complex terrain of Fuan Apartments in a wild escape!
Feeling challenged by Natasha's provocation, Xia Na's hand on the windowsill released a surge of lightning, charring the entire sill!
Xia Na grabbed a communicator and shouted: "Sister, she fled! Heading towards Team Seven's direction..."
As Xia Na spoke, she quickly approached the drained man's corpse, her gaze sweeping over it, pressing a hand on the corpse's face, she abruptly twisted aside, noticing the red wounds on the neck, instantly adding:
"She's a Bat Demon, just drained a man's essence, her physical abilities will greatly increase.
Everyone be wary of her poison!"
The beguilement demon, being called a demon, naturally boasted unique methods.
For a Banshee Calamity to reach the third stage, a third-stage Catastrophe Potion must be consumed.
Different potions required various materials, categorized as main and auxiliary.
Main materials were irreplaceable.
Multiple options exist for auxiliary materials, each offering distinct effects.
Among them, beguilement demons could use different animals as auxiliary materials, evolving into various demons and acquiring new abilities.
For instance, Natasha.
Her third-stage potion's auxiliary material was likely a bat, which enabled her to absorb human blood, transforming the skin under her arms into membranous wings for gliding.
A beguilement demon, indeed a monster!
"Heavenly net and earthly cage, I refuse to believe you can escape."
