Demon beasts—in the traditional sense, are considered creations of the Demon King.
The Demon King Mohe does not oppose this idea. In fact, after the demon race was defeated, demon beasts were usually categorized as a type of beast. However, they are more special since these creatures indeed appear unexpectedly among the beasts. Gradually, the idea that demon beasts are creations of the Demon King was challenged.
Contemporary demon beast scholars believe that demon beasts might be the original use of the term "demon," and the title of the Demon King was assigned later. They are terrifying life forms similar to demon beasts, and then the demon race was also considered to be the same kind of existence… Of course, these scholars of demon beasts are uniformly dwarves.
This notion conflicts with the teachings of the White Church.
