Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: It Really Looks Good

At six in the morning, when Lucy Eaton woke up, he had already come out after washing up. Seeing the clothes Jacob Green was wearing, some images quickly flashed through Lucy Eaton's mind.

She instantly woke up, threw off the blanket, and stepped barefoot on the carpet, saying, "These clothes don't look good. I'll get you another set to wear."

Jacob Green watched her go to the closet naked, then looked down at his own clothes. What he initially thought were good clothes suddenly didn't seem that great.

In less than two minutes, she came out with another set of clothes: a white shirt, black classic suit, matched with a black tie.

She reached out to help him put them on. Once the tie was tied, Lucy Eaton looked satisfied, "See, now it looks good."

"It does look nice."

While dressing, she said, "Of course, don't you see whose vision it is? By the way, it's going to pour this afternoon, don't forget to bring an umbrella."

"The weather forecast says there's no rain today."

"Even a condom only has a ninety-five percent safety rate. Do you think the weather forecast is one hundred percent accurate?" She walked to the bathroom to freshen up.

...

Their breakfast was quite different. Jacob Green's was abundant, while hers was too ordinary.

Jacob Green watched her spread radish pickle and spicy sauce on an egg pancake, then rolled it up and ate it, frowning unconsciously, "Is it good?"

Lucy Eaton handed the pancake to him, "Have a bite and see."

He was too lazy to use his hands, so he leaned his head over. Lucy Eaton cooperatively brought the pancake to his mouth.

Jacob Green took a bite, chewed a few times, and indeed found it quite tasty.

"It's quite good, isn't it?" Lucy Eaton took a bite from the place he had bitten. "The street food I had before was never as good as what your chef makes here."

"Do you often eat street food?"

"Of course, at our funeral home's dorm, the most you can do is have a rice cooker. It's fine for cooking noodles, but forget about stir-frying. We eat out eighty percent of the time, and good restaurants are expensive. My monthly salary is six thousand yuan; if I eat out every day, I can't save any money at all."

"Only six thousand a month? I heard salaries in your profession are quite high?"

"Some earn over ten thousand a month, some less than three thousand; it varies by location and environment, as well as experience. Generally, the salaries aren't that high."

Jacob Green asked, "With so many jobs out there, why choose this one?"

"I studied medicine at university; my reason for doing this was because I felt this profession was as sacred as being a doctor. Back then, in my freshman year, working and studying for survival fees and tuition was essential. It taught me skills and allowed me to earn money. Why not enjoy it?" She laughed lightly, "Reality proved my choice was right. It opened up another pathway for me—life is like that; unexpected things pop up from time to time."

"Do you plan to return to medicine anymore in the future?"

She denied, "Never thought about it. Going with the flow, if there's a chance in the future, I'd like to return to medicine."

The reason Lucy Eaton applied to medical university back then was because she loved her field of study. The fact that human reasons prevented her from graduating is something she can't let go.

When breakfast ended, the two almost left at the same time. Outside, sunshine bathed everything, showing no signs of rain.

About this, Jacob Green expressed a lot of skepticism towards her rainy predictions.

——

If Lucy Eaton hadn't seen the suit he put on in the morning, she wouldn't have suddenly remembered this day.

On this day in the previous life, she was working at the funeral home and learned about his accident through a colleague's mouth.

She checked the reported video online using her phone.

In the afternoon, he went to inspect construction projects in the suburbs and fell from above, his body pierced by rebar, suffering quite severe injuries, wearing the same suit he planned to wear today.

The reporter was using an umbrella during the broadcast—a torrential downpour.

Later, when she got pregnant and went to find him, he had just recovered from his injuries. During their conversation, his mother overheard, leading to their marriage.

If it weren't for his mom, he would have surely privately aborted it.

Changing the suit, could it change his injury? Lucy Eaton truly didn't know.

So from morning to afternoon, she kept pondering this matter.

By three o'clock, she finally took half a day off, carrying an umbrella as she left the funeral home.

Outside, it was still bright with sunshine, showing no signs of rain at all.

Due to traffic, she reached the suburban Trelliswood construction site close to four o'clock.

She directly went in to find someone, wearing a mask pretending to be someone from Blossom Haven Estate to inquire from the construction workers about his general location.

After searching for over twenty minutes, she finally saw his figure beneath a building under construction.

At that moment, Jacob Green was talking with a group of bodyguards and several management personnel, not noticing her standing not far away.

The black umbrella in his hand appeared somewhat abrupt.

Lucy Eaton looked up; the originally bright sun had quietly hidden more than half away.

She didn't disturb him but stayed in the shadows to observe.

Until a heavy rain suddenly poured down without warning, Jacob Green casually opened his umbrella and left with his group.

Seeing him get into the car with her own eyes, Lucy Eaton finally left there, feeling relieved.

Coming out, she walked along the sidewalk to the bus stop. Lucy Eaton's eyes were drawn to the advertisement in the lightbox beside her.

The ad was a man's photo, dressed in a blue suit with a sculpted face, features showing a chic smile.

He's not a celebrity, but like Jacob Green, is a famous young business executive, the eldest grandson of the Sharp Clan—Charles Sharp.

Interestingly, the renowned men's luxury products under the Sharp Clan are endorsed by him personally.

Their sales consistently top the charts, far surpassing the effects of celebrity endorsements.

About many things concerning him, she's learned from the news; in reality, she had never met him.

Lucy Eaton stared at his photo for two or three minutes, suddenly sprouting an incredibly bold idea.

Therefore, she changed her route back, hailed a taxi to Sharp Tower.

Holding up her umbrella, looking at the tens of stories high office building, she walked quickly to the building's entrance.

Entering through the revolving door, not knowing Charles Sharp's contact, she could only seek help from the front desk.

She whispered while wearing a mask, "I want to see your Mr. Sharp."

The receptionist looked at her ordinary attire, smiled slightly on her face, "Do you have an appointment?"

"No appointment."

The receptionist's smile faded by half, "Sorry, miss, without an appointment, it's not possible."

"Tell him I'm Little Ho, he'll know who I am and will see me immediately." Lucy Eaton added, "Please."

The receptionist heard her say this, somewhat suspicious but still called the secretary desk for safety.
