Stellan murmured, "Why didn't he tell me?"
She turned and got into the car, going to visit Grace.
Grace was already able to move, but she could only walk slowly, otherwise, the wounds would hurt terribly.
Like an elderly person over seventy, she found this sensation very unpleasant.
When Stellan arrived, Grace was lying in bed reading.
"Are you feeling better?"
"Feeling better? It's still the same." She stretched her face long and looked at the things Stellan was carrying, "Coming to see me, you brought stuff again."
"All are supplements, hope you get better soon." Stellan put down the large bags she was holding, sat by the bed, "I'll keep you company these days to relieve boredom."
"How are things with Jacob Green?"
"Going smoothly, we're eating three meals together every day. He's gone abroad for business today and will be back in a week."
"It's good if they're smooth. He likes you so much, apart from you, he won't want anyone else. I think something good is coming your way. Maybe when he returns from abroad, he'll propose to you."
Stellan laughed confidently, "Even if he doesn't propose in a week, it won't take long. I know him well enough. If my parents didn't really want me to marry him, I wouldn't want to marry him. His temper is domineering and mean, and he even hurt you like this."
Grace's mouth twitched slightly, "How he treats me doesn't matter, what matters is how he treats you. Stellan, as your good friend, I really wish for your happiness."
"I also wish for your happiness. By the way, you've lost your job due to this injury. Once you recover, what kind of work would you like to do?"
"I'd still like to do the work I am good at."
"Secretary?" Stellan sighed lightly, "If it weren't for this incident, I could arrange for you to be beside Jacob Green. Now, because of this, I can't speak up."
Grace's eyes lit up, "Why can't you speak up? Stellan, if he truly loves you, he'll definitely agree to your request. If I become his secretary, it's like having a surveillance monitor next to him. You'll basically know clearly if he has interactions with any other women. Why not use this opportunity to test him?"
Seeing Stellan hesitate, she pressed further, "We're best friends. After you marry him, I'll see him very often for your sake. I'm willing to forgive him for everything he's done to me and get along well with him."
"Grace, you're so good." Stellan said emotionally, "When he returns from abroad, I'll talk to him about it."
"Alright, I'll wait for your news."
"Grace, do you remember I told you about someone I really like?"
"I remember, Jacob Green's brother, John Green, right?"
"Yes, he's coming back soon."
Grace widened her eyes, "Really? So what are your plans?"
"No plans. I've already given up. John Green isn't into someone like me. Even if he were willing to be with me, my parents wouldn't agree. He's in medicine, and the future authority of the Green Group is controlled by Jacob Green." Stellan continued, "Once I secure Jacob Green and get engaged, there'll be at least half a year's time to get used to each other. This half-year is enough for me to see through him. If he truly remains good to me, I'll marry him."
"He'll definitely be good to you, don't overthink it."
——
After Jacob Green and Lucy arrived abroad, he's been busy with work and only returned to the hotel in the evenings to have intimate moments with her.
When he wasn't around, Lucy either went out shopping with the card he awarded her or stayed at the hotel.
Six days passed quickly. With his work done, they went out to have fun on the last day.
The two played wildly all day, visiting several famous attractions, eating local delicacies, and taking quite a few photos.
Returning in the evening, they were exhausted but in surprisingly good spirits.
After a comfortable bath and changing into clean clothes, they began packing their luggage.
They planned to take a flight back in the evening, allowing them to sleep on the plane and save time.
Indeed.
After boarding the plane, they slept all the way, and when it landed at Blossom Haven Estate, they were still deep in sleep.
By morning, it was already bright outside.
Lucy found they had returned home and was feeling cheerful.
Just as she was about to get up, his arm wrapped around her waist, "Stay and sleep with me a bit longer."
Lucy had to lie back down, the two curled up together, feeling his warmth and breath, neither saying a word.
After nearly two hours, he finally awoke.
"You're awake, I was about to starve to death."
"Then quickly get up, what do you want to eat?"
Lucy pouted, "I want to eat you."
He extended his arm, "Come, take a bite."
Lucy didn't hesitate, bent low to bite him, causing him to scream in pain, "You really bit?"
"Of course, a real person never fakes it."
Her mood was excellent, she swiftly dressed and disembarked the plane with him.
Nathaniel Green brought down the suitcase and placed it in the car's trunk, and the three rode a few minutes to the front of the main villa.
Blossom Haven's deputy team leader, Oliver Green, ran up to report, "Captain, young master, Stellan is here, at the entrance."
Lucy took the suitcase from Nathaniel Green, "I'll go upstairs first."
Watching her back, Jacob Green instructed Nathaniel, "Immediately have the kitchen prepare breakfast for Miss Lucy."
"Alright."
Jacob Green then directed Oliver Green, "Bring my car around."
"Yes, young master."
He headed straight for the door.
Stellan didn't expect Jacob Green to personally open the door, "When did you come back?"
"Just got home."
"I called Nathaniel Green, he said you were coming back today, so I came over. Unexpectedly, the timing was perfect. Have you eaten?"
"Not yet."
"Then let's have breakfast together."
"Alright." Oliver Green brought the car around, he took the keys and got in the car with her.
"I tried calling you this week but couldn't get through. Were you very busy?"
Jacob Green gripped the steering wheel with both hands, "Busy from morning to night, I rejected all domestic calls."
"Jacob Green, I feel you've changed a bit." Stellan looked at his side profile, feeling emotional, "No matter the time before, you would always call me at least once every two days. Since our argument over Grace, you haven't really initiated calls with me."
"I'm no longer as clingy as before; it's making you uncomfortable?" He stared straight ahead, "You should know, you've never truly given me your heart. Even your current attentiveness is just an act, so why should I remain consistent?"
Perhaps being exposed, Stellan's face flushed red and then turned pale, "I'm not putting on an act."
