Chapter 13 - Chapter 13

BRITNEY'S POV

"You will no longer go out there to train," He decreed, his voice firm and authoritative. "Not until you're fully recovered," He said.

I flared up at the command, my instinct rebelled against his attempts to control me. "Who says I'm not fully recovered?" I asked him. Obviously, he wanted a reason to keep me captive, because he could clearly see that I was healed completely.

His stone cold gaze roamed over me, ravaging my body before finally resting on my face, "You know I could lock you up here and your parents won't be able to do anything about it." He threatened. The air seemed to vibrate with tension as we engaged in a silent stare-down.

His threat did something to me, it wasn't fear that I felt, but a thrill that ran through my veins like a spark of electricity. The way his eyes traveled my body as if claiming ownership, made my skin tingle with a sensation I couldn't quite explain. He has a way of shutting me up every time, rendering me speechless with just a glance.

"But.." I stuttered, trying to find my voice, but my words faltered under the intensity of his gaze.

Before I could speak, he let out a deep, frustrated sigh. Pinching his brows together in a scowl. He walked towards me, his long strides eating up the distance.

His elegant structure towered over me, as he stared down

at me.

As he brought his face down to the level of mine, and his eyes stared right into mine. The color of his eyes was simply mesmerizing, like a deep mysterious ocean that seemed to pull me in.

Time stood still as we locked gazes, the room was completely silent, and the only sound was the beat of my heart. His face was only a few inches away from mine, I could feel his breath, brushing on my lips.

His eyes traveled from my eyes, down to my lips before going to my neck.

'Why the hell was he doing this, and what was going through his mind?' my neck felt tingly under his gaze.

His eyes went back to my face before he spoke, "I love how you challenge me." He said, his voice low with a hint of allurement. "But I won't go back on my words," He added.

I was still dazzlingly staring into his eyes and didn't even pay attention to what he said. He must have noticed how entranced I was because he suddenly let out a low chuckle.

I only noticed he was done talking when he got up and moved a few steps away from me.

"That would be all." He turned away from me, "Ill leave you here to rest," He said, his voice had become a lot softer and his eyes suddenly didn't look terrifying to me anymore.

I found myself watching his broad back as he walked out of the room, my gaze trailing after him like a magnet drawn to steel. The fabric of his shirt stretched across his shoulders, accentuating the powerful muscles that lay beneath. It was as if I had momentarily forgotten that I was supposed to be annoyed with him.

I have to stop these random feelings before it gets out of hand.

"Tell me about it," Daisy's eyes gleamed with anticipation.

I fell back in my chair and stared outside the glass wall of the restaurant. "It was awful, I said before taking a sip of my drink."

Daisy's eyes narrowed, she didn't seem satisfied with my response. "And Alpha Jordyn.. did you meet him?" She asked.

I turned my gaze to her, I nodded as I tried to hold back a blush. "Yeah, I met him," I said, trying to act nonchalant.

Daisy's eyes lit up, her curiosity piqued. "So what did he say to you?" She pried.

I let out an unbothered sigh. "Nothing much." I replied, waving my hand dismissively.

Daisy rolled her eyes, "come on girl, what is going on? What happened to you in there?" She ranted in excitement.

I placed my hands on the table, my palms facing upwards in a dramatic gesture. "You want to know what happened to me?" I asked her, "Well I almost died." I exclaimed, trying to fake a sob.

Daisy's eyes widened, "Oh my gosh, what happened?" She asked with a surprised look.

I leaned in closer, "Do you know that we're supposed to train with our wolves?" I whispered, my eyes darting around the restaurant to ensure no one was listening.

Daisy gasped. "What the hell?"

I nodded with a serious expression, "And then I got picked, to fight an angry wolf!"

Daisy's gasp was louder this time, her shriek echoing through the restaurant and turning heads. "You don't mean it," she exclaimed.

"So what did you do?" She asked, her eyes sparkling with a mix of fear and excitement.

I took a deep breath and steadied my voice. "I fought." I

replied.

Daisy gasped for the third time. "You did what?!" Her hand flew to her mouth and her eyes nearly popped out of her head.

"Yes, I fought." I nodded, a sly grin spreading across my face. "That's why I said I almost died."

"How did you escape?" She asked in a concerned tone.

I breathe down, recalling the moment Alpha Jordyn had stepped in and saved me.

"He saved me," I said in a low voice. "He stepped in last minute and stopped the fight."

"Wow Bri," Daisy said with a smile.

I wondered why she was smiling all of a sudden.

"To think that you were scared of meeting him there, and he turned out to be your knight in shiny armor." She giggled.

I rolled my eyes at her, "I appreciate him coming to save me but do you know what he told me afterward?" I asked her in a tone filled with disbelief. "He told me not to train anymore!"

Daisy's eyes widened in shock. "Wait.. what? you were planning to go back?"

I gulped my drink, "Of course." I replied, "I feel so determined now." I said.

"Wow, I really admire you," Daisy said, her tone laced with sarcasm.

I turned to gaze outside the glass wall beside us, The view was soothing, calming my nerves.

I never wanted to train. But now, I'm ready for it, even though I get bullied for not having my wolf, I am still going to try my best and up my game by training as hard as I can.
