Chapter 15 - Chapter 15

BRITNEY'S POV

My facial expression must have been absolutely priceless because she suddenly giggled, a joyful sound that was like music to my ears. Her eyes sparkled with amusement, and her lips curled up into a playful smile. I couldn't help but laugh too as I took her hands. She seemed more friendly than she looked.

"You must be Britney," she suddenly said. This caught me off guard, how did she know my name? I stared at her, my eyes wide with surprise, hoping she would answer my unspoken questions.

She let out a soft giggle, "are you surprised?" She asked with a playful voice. "Of course, I know you," she said, her smile growing wider.

"But…" I stuttered.

"Everybody knows you," she chuckled. "The girl who made my brother stop an ongoing training?" She said, her eyes glinting with teasing. 'Her brother!? "Alpha Jordyn is your brother?" I asked in disbelief.

I watched her with amusement, I didn't know Alpha Jordyn had a sister. And she was stunning! Her beauty and elegance took my breath away.

She smiled, her soft eyes sparkling with warmth. "You want me to show you around?" she suddenly asked.

I hesitated and subconsciously shook my head, "Uhh..I have to go back to training.." I stammered, pointing towards the arena.

"Don't worry about that for now," she said, cutting me short. "Nobody's gonna bother you anyways, they are all scared" Her voice was firm but playful. Scared? Why would they be scared of me?

"But.. why?" I asked her.

She looked at me with a mischievous glint in her eyes and gave a soft chuckle. "Because of my brother, of course." She said.

"Nobody wants to mess with the girl who made my brother cancel wolf training." She ranted playfully as we strolled along.

Wait, what? He was the one who canceled the training? Because of me?

"Why would he do that? I'm not the only one training here…he should have considered everybody else before. making such a decision."

She suddenly burst into laughter, "Everybody else?" She asked, looking at me and shaking her head. "Yeah, my brother can be unpredictable sometimes, but this time around, I think he likes you." She paused, her grin mischievous.

"And he did that to protect you. He doesn't want everybody finding out you do not have your wolf." She said.

My face grew hot with embarrassment, and I quickly looked away, hiding my discomfort.

"Like?. Nah, it's just.." I stammered, trailing off as I struggled to come up with a convincing explanation.

"It's just what?" She asked, I could see the curiosity in her smile.

"It's just a bit of a situation, that's all." I replied, smiling awkwardly.

"Oh really?" She teased. "By the way, my name's Janette, she said, extending her hand in a friendly gesture. I took it, feeling the warmth spread across my chest.

"Nice to meet you," I smiled warmly at her.

Just then, a huge shadow loomed over us and interrupted our little walk. It was Alpha Jordyn, he stood there, his eyes fixed on us with an unreadable expression.

Janette rolled her eyes, hinting at him that he just interrupted a private moment. She put her hands on her hips with a sassy stance.

"What do you what?" She asked him in an irritated tone.

Alpha Jordyn's gaze shifted from her and landed on me, "Her," he requested coldly.

I heard Janette breathing down in frustration. She strode up to him and whispered something in his ear. Whatever she said, his expression remained unreadable, but his eyes flickered with a hint of irritation.

Janette turned back to me, "It was nice meeting you." She said before walking off, leaving me alone with Alpha Jordyn.

My gaze lingered on her fading silhouette. When I turned back to Alpha Jordyn, his piercing gaze struck me like cold wind.

"You want to go for a walk?" He asked, his voice warm as a winter frost.

I raised an eyebrow, taken aback by his blunt demeanor. Sheesh, is that any way to ask a girl for a walk?

I looked at him, holding myself from throwing him a disgusted look. Instead, I nodded curtly and stepped forward, following him into the unknown.

"What did she say to you?" He asked.

What could his sister possibly tell me? Did he not trust her or what?

"I didn't know you had a sister," I said, smiling softly.

"She's annoying, I know," He said dismissively.

"No no, she's actually very fun..unlike you," I said, whispering the last part. He didn't say anything but I knew he heard me.

As we walked further, the silence between us grew thicker.

"So why did you call off wolf training?" I asked, curiosity getting the better of me. I wanted to know if he had done it because of me.

"Because I'm in charge and I make the rules." He replied, his voice firm but unyielding. I glanced at his face, hoping to see a glimmer of emotion, but his expression was stoic.

"So you just gave the orders because you wanted to?" I pressed on.

He sighed and stopped walking. "You know why I did that Bri," He said. "You can't keep getting hurt. Wolf training won't resume until you're strong enough." He concluded, his voice low and husky.

I wanted to protest, to argue that I was strong enough, but I knew I would only be making empty demands. Hearing him say Bri' instead of Britney' was too sexy for me to oppose, and I felt my resolve weaken.

'What?, did I just call him sexy?' I must be losing my mind!

I felt his gaze on me before he spoke in a low tone. "You never say my name," He said, his words catching me off guard. why was he talking so casually all of a sudden? He was always grumpy and demanding, but now he wanted me to say his name?

"Uhm..I never see any reason to call you by your name I stuttered, my cheeks flushing with embarrassment.

"Alpha Jordyn," I added hastily, trying to cover my momentary lapse,

"Jordyn," He interrupted. "Call me Jordyn when we're alone," He said, his voice firm but gentle.

What? How could I do that? It felt too intimate, too personal. He must have sensed my unease because he immediately added, "It's an order."

I gazed up at him, and for a fleeting moment, I could have sworn I saw a hint of a smile playing on his lips. It was a subtle softening of his features, a gentle curving of his mouth that seemed to suggest a warmth beneath his tough exterior.

Having a casual conversation with him today made me realize he wasn't as stone-cold as I thought. In fact, he seemed almost human.

As we strolled through the cool air, he appeared more at peace than I had ever seen him before. His eyes seemed to hold a clue of warmth as if he were savoring the simple pleasure of walking beside me.
