Qin Mu hadn't expected Hu Youdao to have failed in his job. Inviting him here without first addressing the troublesome Du Wanming?
Given Hu's competence, he should have prepared in advance and sent Du Wanming away. After all, the two still had a grudge.
"President Du, this is the Provincial Chamber of Commerce. Logically, it's not your territory alone. You're just a vice president; can you represent the entire Provincial Chamber of Commerce?"
Qin Mu casually reminded him.

Du Wanming laughed immediately, pointing to himself, and said smugly, "Qin Mu, I can't speak for everything else, but in the Provincial Chamber of Commerce, I'm an absolute elder statesman, with absolute authority!"
"It's true I'm the vice president, but when I speak, even the president has to listen to me. Do you really think that just because I'm the vice president, I can't represent the Provincial Chamber of Commerce?"
This wasn't just Du Wanming's confidence; he genuinely possessed the power. As a founding member of the Chamber, he was far beyond the reach of ordinary people, and he and President Hu Youdao were true brothers.
It was already agreed that Hu Youdao would retire in two years, and Du Wanming had always considered himself the president.
"Fine, since you can represent the Provincial Chamber of Commerce, then I'll wait for you to kick me out."
Qin Mu smiled slightly, standing still, and said calmly, "If you can't do it, then don't blame me for laughing at you. A grown man, all you do is show off!"
Kick you out?
"Isn't that a piece of cake?"
"Fine, Qin Mu, just you wait and see. I admit you're a county magistrate, your status is extraordinary, but this is a chamber of commerce, a non-governmental organization. Besides, what can a small county magistrate from a remote area like you possibly do?"
Du Wanming didn't really take Qin Mu seriously, and immediately waved towards the security booth not far away.
"Chairman Du, you called for me!"
The security guard ran up quickly and asked hurriedly.
"Go, call the entire security team over."
Du Wanming said bluntly, "I have something to assign you."
"Okay!"
The security guard didn't think much of it and readily agreed, grabbing his walkie-talkie and starting to call for reinforcements.
"I know you're good at fighting!"
Du Wanming said, looking very clever, "Our chamber of commerce security team has twenty people. I don't believe you can beat them all up!"
He's certainly thought of everything!
Qin Mu couldn't help but laugh, saying, "President Du, I'm just kindly reminding you, the fact that I'm standing here means I'm a guest of the Provincial Chamber of Commerce. Have you considered the consequences of attacking a guest?"
Guest?
Consequences?
Du Wanming's eyes darted around after hearing this, then he suddenly said defiantly, "Qin Mu, don't give me that crap. I don't care if you're a guest or not, I'm going to beat you up today."
"On my turf, you think you can act so arrogantly?"
He wasn't oblivious to the meaning behind Qin Mu's words.
His presence here was most likely due to invitations from other members of the Chamber of Commerce.
But Du Wanming was still going to make his move!
He wanted to beat Qin Mu up before the others in the Chamber of Commerce found out. At worst, he could apologize afterward!
Beat Qin Mu first, and he could vent his anger, gain some advantage, and make the kid suffer a loss.
"Thump thump thump..."
Soon, more than a dozen security guards rushed over. "President Du, you wanted to see us!"
The security captain, a middle-aged man, quickly asked.
"I have a grudge against this guy. All of you, get him! Teach him a lesson, make him suffer a bit, is that alright?"
Du Wanming pointed at Qin Mu and said bluntly, "Quickly finish this. Once it's over, I'll give you all a reward!"
Hearing this, the security guards were eager to try.
Du Wanming was a big shot in the chamber of commerce, and usually quite generous. Asking him to teach a young man a lesson was nothing to him.
The reason was simple: if the other party was truly powerful, President Du wouldn't have done this.
The fact that he dared to ask them to take action meant that beating him up was no problem, and besides, there were rewards to be had—wasn't this just pure freebies?
"Wasn't that the guy shaking hands with the chairman?"
A security guard in the crowd seemed to recognize Qin Mu and asked doubtfully, "Chairman Du, is he a leader here for an inspection?"
"What leader? He's a leader, don't I know that?"
Du Wanming immediately retorted, "You all just do your thing, leave the rest to me."
"Hurry up, all of you, get him! Does my word not count?"
Du Wanming barked, issuing a firm order.
"Everyone, attack together, but take it easy."
The security captain no longer hesitated, giving the order and leading a group of guards to surround Qin Mu, ready to teach him a lesson.
But they clearly underestimated Qin Mu's strength.
A battle-hardened special forces soldier, proficient in various combat techniques, would indeed find it difficult to quickly defeat a dozen or so security guards, but escaping unscathed would be more than enough.
More importantly, these security guards weren't going all out; they were all hoping to get away with it by simply getting by. After all, nobody's stupid; if they really went all out and something happened, who could bear the responsibility?
With this shift in power, Qin Mu was able to easily dodge the dozen or so security guards, their fists never even getting close.
"Have you all forgotten to eat?"
This scene infuriated Du Wanming. A dozen people ganging up on one person, and they still couldn't take him down.
Are they playing a game?
"What the hell are you doing!"
Just as Du Wanming finished yelling, Chairman Hu Youdao walked out of the conference room. Seeing Qin Mu surrounded by a group of security guards, he almost fainted.
He had finally managed to resolve their previous grievances smoothly with Qin Mu, only to see this. No wonder he was furious.
At his shout, all the security guards stopped on their own.
"Old Hu, don't get agitated. I'm just teaching this kid a lesson. What are you so nervous about?"
Du Wanming stepped forward and said, "You know the situation between Qin Mu and me. Besides, we haven't even really fought yet, have we?"
"Chairman Hu, it seems the Provincial Chamber of Commerce still doesn't welcome me. I just went to the restroom, and when I came out, Chairman Du called over a dozen security guards, saying they were going to beat me to a pulp and kick me out of the Provincial Chamber of Commerce!"
Qin Mu clutched his head and said, "You know what, these guys are really hitting me hard. If something really bad happens to me, the Provincial Chamber of Commerce might have to close down!"

Du Wanming was about to give Qin Mu a good scolding, but before he could finish, he was slapped hard by the association president, Hu Youdao, who cursed him.

Qin Mu breathed a sigh of relief at this scene. The reason he hadn't called for Hu Youdao earlier was to let Du Wanming lead his men to attack him. This way, Hu Youdao and the provincial chamber of commerce would be in the wrong first. Next, when he made his investment request, they wouldn't have any reason to refuse, right?
