Kakashi arrived back to the Avengers Tower with Kamui. He appeared in the room which they had made to the Avengers meeting room as well as planning room.
The dead bodies of his attackers were sealed in a storage scroll that he carried with him. Everyone who was available looked at him with concern. Others were busy raiding Hydra bases or searching for them.
The team was not worried one bit after Jarvis reported the attack on Kakashi. They gathered around him quickly, wanting to know what had happened during the ambush.
They knew that their leader was an absurd existence and their views were further strengthened after his battle with the dark elf king where he repeatedly came back from death by somehow changing reality. A fact they still failed to comprehend.
Tony said, "Jarvis told me you were attacked. Were the attackers Hydra? Did they finally decided to show themselves to the world and started by targeting you?"
"Yes but I suspect them to be not from Hydra. It would be too much of a risky move by Hydra leaders to do so. If they act so brazenly, they would just be confirming our suspicions of who is a traitor and who is not."
"And sadly I could not interrogate them either since they took their lives before I could do so," Kakashi said.
He explained the details of the ambush calmly, describing the cloaked attackers and how they had used advanced weapons. The team listened carefully, understanding that this new threat was complicated.
"Then who?" Cap asked. The super soldier looked serious, his shield resting beside him.
Kakashi took out one of the corpses of his attackers. The body was still covered in black clothing, but their hood was removed.
"A woman huh... Red Room probably," Tony asked with raised eyebrows. He examined the gear with interest.
Natasha raised an eyebrow and looked at her. "Not probably. Her gear is different from what Red Room operatives have and Red Room would have her become bald. Their modus operandi is to use women's beauty against their targets." She studied the body carefully, noting small details that the others might have missed.
Her experience with the Red Room made her an expert on their methods, and this did not match their usual style.
Tony then examined the weapons, the bombs and the spear.
"That spear is very durable and can fire energy blasts from it," Kakashi commented. He described how the weapons had held up against his attacks during the fight.
Tony inspected the weapons for another minute before his eyes widened. "These weapons.... Jarvis scan them immediately," Tony said as a blue light came from within the room.
The AI scanned the items thoroughly and sent a report to Tony's tablet. As he viewed it his eyes widened further. "They have some vibranium mixed in them. The technology involved also is very advanced which allows these spears to shoot energy blasts too," Tony said with shock and glee in his voice.
The inventor was clearly excited about the possibilities of studying such advanced technology.
Tony decided to take the spear and the other weapons. But before Tony could pocket them, Kakashi stopped his hands. "You cannot have them," Kakashi said firmly.
Tony looked at him with surprise. "Are we not a team and as the leader should not you make sure your subordinates are happy?" Tony asked with puppy dog eyes. He tried to look innocent and pleading, which was quite funny coming from the billionaire in his suit.
Kakashi rolled his eyes. "Let me complete. I said you cannot have them for free. If I am right vibranium should be pretty expensive and this new technology would be quite good for you. You should pay me for it." The others just watched them with amusement as the two negotiated.
Tony grumbled, "When did you become this greedy? I thought of you as my idol." Kakashi simply smiled slightly at the comment.
Tony then offered, "Anyways what do you want for it? I can have the last twenty years Playboy magazines delivered to you." He then looked around to see Natasha and Storm in the room.
He whispered to Kakashi's ears, "The best porn videos playlist with very good storylines better than the books you read with lots of action."
Kakashi's ears became hot. "I will take both of them along with a car." As he saw Tony was about to accept Kakashi added, "I mean three cars. If another one explodes, I want a backup."
Tony said, "Fineee."
Kakashi was happy that he would not have to use his savings to buy another car. Since Shield no longer paid him and he no longer did mercenary work, he did not have a permanent source of income.
He thought,'Should I start charging people for saving the world? Fury said that the world council would fund Avengers but we haven't gotten even a penny. Well, I can't blame them for that considering Avengers decided to go the independent route.'
Natasha coughed. "Men, should not you be more focused on trying to find out who these attackers were if not Hydra or Red Room? And how are we going to find who is involved?" She brought the conversation back to the serious matter at hand, though a small smile played on her lips at their antics.
Kakashi looked at the dead body and then said, "I might have a way."
