Kakashi saw the space pirate ship burst into rubble under the Asgardian ship's energy beam.
The other five pirate ships fired their own attacks, but the ship's barriers held strong, deflecting the blasts.
Kakashi stood on the deck as he scanned the situation outside. The situation looked in control for now. The barrier was strong enough to protect the ship. And it's firepower seemed to break through the pirates defenses easily.
He had a lot of fighting and mission experience but it was his first time to see such advanced technology. Technology that could take down a dozen normal jonins of a great village.
'Those energy attacks are like a weaker version of tailed beast bombs. To think that technology can achieve such feats of power, something that only some chakra monsters can do back in my world.' Kakashi thought.
He thought about the ship's power. :The ship has its own energy source, boosted by the mages' magic. It's like an infinite battery, but the mages will tire eventually if there were more ships attacking.
Another pirate ship exploded as the Asgardian beam struck again.
The crew cheered, but the mood shifted when one of the mages cursed, "Odin's beard! The radar's picking up more ships heading our way. This isn't just a pirate fleet. This fleet is likely backed and sponsorsed by the Kree!"
Kakashi thought with a wry smile underneath his mask, 'Did I just jinx it?'
Several mages muttered curses. One spoke up, voice tense. "Our reserves will run dry if we keep fighting this many ships. Lady Sif, we should retreat."
Kakashi's mind raced, recalling the information packet Frigga had given him and Fury. 'The Kree are a militaristic race from Hala. Blue-skinned, advanced, and always at war. No surprise they're funding pirates to stir trouble in regions they don't control.'
He glanced at Lady Sif, who stood tall at the center of the room.
"We fight to the end," Sif declared. "We are Asgardians. We do not retreat. We do not falter. We are warriors, forged in battle, tempered by the fire of our enemies' wrath. We will hold this line and show these pirates the might of Asgard!"
Kakashi gave her a side-eye, his mask hiding his expression. 'Are all Asgardians this melodramatic?' he thought. 'She's too focused on the mission. She doesn't see we can't win this. There's no shame in retreating to save lives, but she's risking everyone for a doomed fight.'
If Sif had been his student back in the ninja world, Kakashi would have drilled one lesson into her: sometimes, backing down was smarter than throwing lives away on a failed mission. Not just yours but also your subordinates and comrades.
He looked at Sif and said,"There is no need for that. I will handle the situation."
Sif turned to him. "What do you mean, Midgardian? Remember, I'm leading this operation as per Queen Frigga's orders."
Kakashi met her gaze calmly. "What I mean is, I can handle this situation."
Sif raised an eyebrow, skeptical. "I admire your strength and skills, but you're human. You don't have an Asgardian's body to survive in space without oxygen."
She paused, her eyes narrowing. "Unless you know a way to breathe in space… or unless you're not human."
She emphasized the last part as if she wanted him to say that he was not human. She still could not believe that a mortal human stood toe to toe with the Allfather in a fight and effortlessly defeated her, Warrior Three and Thor.
Kakashi didn't respond to her probing. More ships appeared on the radar, their silhouettes looming in the distance. A mage shouted, "Your orders, Lady Sif!"
Sif glanced at Kakashi. Kakashi gave her a look that said "I can handle this."
Kakashi them walked toward the hatch. Natasha and Maria, standing nearby, exchanged worried looks.
Natasha's brow furrowed. "Kakashi, what are you doing?" she asked quietly.
He gave them a small nod, his eyes crinkling in what passed for a smile. Maria's thoughts raced. 'He's strong, but how's he going to face dozens of advanced ships in space? Just how?'
Kakashi reached into his vest and pulled out a paper seal, placing it carefully over his chest, right above his lungs below all the clothing layers.
It was a special seal, based on storage scrolls but more advanced. He'd developed it at Kamar-Taj, using their ancient texts.
The seal stored oxygen and fed it directly to his lungs, bypassing his skin.
'Looks like this seal will finally come in handy,' he thought.
He looked at Sif. "Open the hatch."
Sif hesitated, then nodded to the mages. They were tense, their faces pale as the ship's barriers flickered, running low on energy.
The latch hissed open, revealing the void of space beyond. To everyone's shock, Kakashi leaped out.
The crew gasped. Natasha gripped the railing, her eyes wide. Maria whispered, "What is he doing?"
Outside, the pirate ships unleashed a barrage of attacks. The Asgardian ship's barriers flickered and failed. A mage shouted, "The barriers are breached! The ship's in trouble! Everyone, hold on!"
But the expected impact never came. The crew rushed to the windows, staring in awe. In front of the ship stood a massive figure, glowing light blue, its form was not flickering with energy but it was made entirely of Energy. It blocked the incoming attacks, shielding the ship.
And at the center of the glowing warrior, inside its crown, stood Kakashi, his Susanoo blazing around him. And his eyes glowing red.
