Kakashi Hatake materialized in SHIELD's New York headquarters, the Kamui swirl fading as he appeared directly in Nick Fury's office.
Fury, seated at his desk, had a gun pointed at him, his face a mask of calm. Without a flicker of surprise, he holstered it.
'This guy has the instincts of a jonin.' Kakashi thought.
"Agent Hound, you should try knocking someday," Fury said, his tone dry, recalling the times Kakashi had slipped in through windows. 'This guy's got no respect for doors. But this is new.'
Kakashi's voice was lazy. "Maybe next time, sir."
Fury leaned back, his single eye glinting with amusement. "Coulson's not here yet. You're early. Didn't find some lost cat or an old lady to help on the way?"
Kakashi's eye crinkled, his tone nonchalant. "Guess the world's gotten nicer."
Fury's expression turned serious, his voice sharp. "So, Coulson tells me you visited Asgard. Care to explain… how?"
Kakashi's thoughts were calm. 'Here it comes. Time to spill about Kamui.'
Fury's mind, meanwhile, was a storm of anger, 'He can teleport and never told me? I could've had him zipping across continents, back from missions in seconds. Lazy bastard's been holding out!'
"I have something of a teleport ability," Kakashi said, his voice casual.
Fury's eye narrowed. "Why didn't you tell me?"
Kakashi shrugged. "You never asked."
'Not my fault you didn't pry.'
Fury's thoughts screamed. 'Bullshit! He's just dodging mission briefings because he's lazy as hell!'
His face stayed neutral, but his mind raged. 'I'm getting every detail about this teleport trick from this slacker.'
"Any limitations?"
Kakashi hesitated, catching himself before mentioning fuinjutsu. 'No need to confuse him with ninja terms.'
"I can only teleport to places I've been or where my kunai are. When Thor and the Asgardians left, I sent a kunai with them. That's how I reached Asgard."
Fury processed this, his thoughts calculating. 'Kunai as markers? Clever, but limited. He can't travel directly to enemy hideouts. Still, he's a walking fast-travel system.'
"Why keep it secret?"
Kakashi's tone was breezy. "You never asked."
'And I like my naps.'
Fury's mind boiled. 'Lazy ass! He's been slacking on purpose!' He forced calm, his voice steady. "So, what happened on Asgard?"
Kakashi leaned against the desk, recounting the events. "Thor's the real deal—god of lightning, straight out of Norse mythology. Except they're not gods, just a race with long lives and big powers. Loki, his brother, sent the Destroyer to kill him. I had a… spar with Odin, their king. Led to negotiations."
Fury's eyebrow rose, his thoughts skeptical. 'A spar with the ultimate norse god.'
"Go on."
Kakashi continued, "Originally, Odin was gonna punish Loki for the Destroyer's attack. In exchange, we'd get intel on the universe and continued Asgard's protection. But they haven't been doing a great job lately."
He explained how Asgard as heen protecting Earth for millennia.
Fury muttered, barely audible, "They haven't been doing a good job."
Kakashi nodded. "Yeah, but Loki escaped. So, new deal." He laid out the terms: "Asgardian gold for the dead agents' families, ongoing intel on alien species, a ship to chase Loki with our agents aboard, and an alliance between Earth and Asgard."
Fury's thoughts lit up, a rare grin spreading across his face.
'Gold, intel, space travel, and an alliance? Hound's outdone himself.'
"So, we get cosmic knowledge, compensation, a chance to explore the universe, and Asgard's got our back?"
His grin widened. "Hound, if you were a woman, I'd be sleeping with you right now."
Kakashi's eye crinkled, his voice deadpan. "Gay." He activated Kamui, vanishing in a swirl. 'Not sticking around for that mental image.'
Fury chuckled, his thoughts settling. 'At least now I know why the Kree haven't invaded. Odin's name keeps them at bay.'
He leaned back, 'Hound negotiated better than I could've. Though, If I'd had his power to stand toe-to-toe with a god, maybe I'd have pushed harder.' He sighed, his thoughts shifting to the bigger picture.
'Do I tell the Security Council about all of this? Nah, they'd see Asgard as a threat and waste my time with meetings.'
'They would waste time with preparing counter measures against them and would rather ruin our alliance with them then benefit from them. People are scared of the unknown after all.'
'Better keep this quiet for now. If they somehow get the information about it, I can use it to push for Project Avengers. They would definitely give the go ahead for the project if there are super powered aliens out there.' Fury made his decision as he called Coulson.

Kakashi reappeared in a New York alley, the city's noise grounding him after Asgard's chaos. 'Fury's happy, but he's gonna milk that teleport trick now,' he thought, his eye crinkling. 'No more late arrivals for me.' He asked the pups about any new intel, checking for Hand activity.
'Quiet for now. Good. Need a breather after that god fight.'
His thoughts drifted to Odin's revelation about his Sharingan.
'A pantheon's power in my eyes?'
His hand brushed the Izanagi stone that he got from Kamar taj.
'I think I know how this stone would help me. But I don't know the method to exploit it.' Kakashi thought
