"What took you so long to answer the bloody phone???" Annoyance permeated through the speaker of the car as he drove us to the base of the mountain away from the quiet village.
"You're calling during our honeymo-"
My ears radiated heat at the mention of honeymoon and my thumbs fiddled about as I remembered being in his embrace in public.
Lucienne cut him off, not wanting to even hear the word. This only made him chuckle under his breath as he raised an eyebrow looking at me with a smirk.
"What's the reason for interrupting our -"
Again, Lucienne interrupted him but there was an obvious mischief in Ed's tone directed to tease his sister. Yet, I too felt being teased. Immediately, I shifted my gaze outside, looking at the wonderful stretches of fir trees covered in the thickness of white snow. It was magical. Especially with the snow falling, it felt like living in a snow globe.
"Mum collapsed and is currently hospitalised."
