I quickly wiped off every trace of tears from my eyes, and adjusted the look on my face right before I stepped into the cubicle of a room which I shared with nine others, including Mira.
Only a few of us were present in the room, with the others serving at their various duty posts. My eyes searched for Mira's, and found them within a few seconds.
Mira's eyes asked a million and one questions all at once while the others who were in the room were focused on what they were doing, if they noticed that someone had come in, and didn't look all happy, they did not show it.
Mira's question I'm eyes followed me until I took a stand beside her. Aside from the questions in her eyes, they were sad, and filled with concern.
"How did it go?" Mira asked. I sighed and looked away, contemplating between telling her the truth or not.
"It went better than I thought." I said, opting for the latter. I didn't want Mira to feel any more worried about me than she already did.
