Mr. Dai returned while they were still setting the dining area. Not long after, Emiko and Naya joined them, and soon everyone was seated.
Kiah was especially eager for the meal. This might be her last lunch with the Dai family. With their wounds mostly healed, she knew Anwyll would insist on leaving soon, injuries or not.
That made this her final chance to savor Mrs. Dai's cooking before returning to the base, where meals were closer to punishment than nourishment.
