"A-are you sure?" Emiko glanced between them, clearly unsettled.
"Positive." Anwyll replied without hesitation.
"That's… insane," she muttered. "Why would anyone do that? Building this cemetery must have cost a fortune."
"That's what we would like to know, Miss Emiko." Anwyll pressed.
Emiko frowned and shook her head. "I don't know anything about this."
Something in Anwyll's eyes sharpened, and just for a moment, a dangerous glint flashed in his eyes.
Kiah noticed. So did Emiko.
Anwyll doubted her.
"Really?"
"What are you insinuating, Vanguard Anwyll? Do you think we are doing something shady?"
"I don't know. Are you?"
Kiah's eyes flicked between them, and she understood why. An empty cemetery, wrong degenerates attack reports — it all painted a suspicious picture. And the fact that the future governor of the Hold knew so little about it was even more troubling.
