Within minutes, the group was ready and stepping through the bustling streets to go to the pub.
Today, it was livelier than it had been in the last two days. A few laughs echoed from passing residents, which was a good sign.
The pub they entered was a modest but cosy place. It had stone walls, a low ceiling, and wooden beams. Inside, a light tune pulsed from a radio in the room.
A low hum of conversation filled the space. The pub wasn't packed, but it had its fair share of patrons.
Emiko led them confidently to a corner table and then waved to the man behind the counter with a casual flick of her hand.
The man beamed when he saw Emiko, wasting no time before stepping forward.
"Oh, what a surprise! It has been a long time since you stopped by, Lady Emiko. And I see you have brought esteemed guests. How may I serve you all this wonderful evening?"
