The trip back to the King's Lands was pure torture inside my head! My father remained silent, speaking occasionally on the phone with his Beta and that was it. He gave orders here and there, ignoring my existence right beside him.
"I'd rather stay at the Shadowfang pack. Why do I have to go to the castle?" I asked when we were already halfway there and he finally put down the damn phone.
My father, with all his grace and pomp, slipped the device into the inner pocket of his fancy clothes, then looked ahead. He was very good at pretend he was not around and ignore people with success.
"You are the princess. You should never have left home in the first place. You already married without my consent, lived for two years as a… nobody, without a title, serving as a maid for that worthless Alpha. Now," he turned to me, his gaze distant, "you will fulfill tradition, Sienna. You will only leave home to marry, and the right way."
