Chapter 4 - Exploring the World, System Career

Ian was already accustomed to the scene before him.

This nightmare... no, perhaps it was the situation where he would fall into such a strange state every night, and it appeared some time before he awakened his golden finger of the system panel.

"What on earth is this place?"

Crystallized frost soon appeared on Ian's eyelashes. He raised his hands to catch the snow falling from the sky. The white snow curtain before him swallowed up the skyline of the ruined city.

The snow is too heavy.

Only things that are right in front of him can make Ian see clearly. Strangely, he didn't feel cold in such an environment, as if he was actually here but was outside the whole world.

The whistling wind was mixed with the crisp sound of cracking ice, and the quiet city was like the dead silence in a doomsday scroll. Perhaps this world was already a world after the end of the world.

"Da da da~"

"Da da da~"

Ian walked on the frozen ground. He didn't know what he could do in this world. All the attempts he had made had proved that he could not bring anything back from here.

Perhaps the only benefit this city can bring to Ian is the inspiration for becoming a famous decadent painter. The broken viaduct slants into the snow like a dissected steel skeleton.

The rusted car wreckage was half buried in the ice, the bus stop had collapsed, the glass roof had long been shattered, and many buildings covered in deep snow had collapsed.

Broken electric wires were swaying in the wind everywhere. This place looked like a ruin abandoned by the gods. Even wanting to hear the chirping of insects was an impossible luxury.

"Hey! Come out!"

Ian shouted at the sky in boredom, but there was no garbage falling from the sky. Even his previous life's knowledge could not become a secret for him to explore the strange world.

"It seems that I have no choice but to follow the old rules." Ian also has strict requirements of himself in this world. He was able to upgrade the [Student] profession to LV7 in such a short time, thanks in part to the nightmare world. In this world, Ian will have an extra seven hours to manage his time.

Learn even in your dreams.

He certainly deserves the excellent grades and rapid promotion.

Not really.

Ian has already begun to look for some bookstores that have not been buried in this ruined world of ice and snow. Most of them have a lot of magazines and periodicals that are rated 18+.

His two older brothers had to hide these books in the neighbor's doghouse, but Ian didn't have to worry about being discovered by his parents, and he could also gain experience points by appreciating them.

How can learning about the adult world not be called learning? Ian's [Student] profession was very flexible in determining the experience points he could gain.

"There should be no limitations in any field. This is what a true academic god of the new era should be like!" Ian was very satisfied with his plan. He walked through one snow-covered street after another.

As Ian kept stepping on the ice, the soles of his boots made a teeth-grinding friction sound. Of course he would slip in such an environment, but after patting his butt and standing up, he didn't feel any pain.

It was like a lucid dream. It was just more coherent and special.

Soon, Ian found his destination, a bookstore buried in the snow. With his diligent hands, he only needed to dig for half an hour to get in.

There weren't many people in the bookstore, not even a dead customer. Fortunately, although the books on the shelves were relatively fragile, the books in the glass cases could still be flipped through gently.

Time passes by every second in fulfilling learning.

Ian happened to find a still usable revolver next to a collectible magazine. He pointed it directly at his temple and pulled the trigger.

"Bang, bang, bang~"

The bullet touched his flesh and blood, causing ripples, but could not hurt him at all. Ian had already figured out the special features of the dream, and this behavior also brought him extra experience.

The six system prompts were not Ian's limit, but the limit of the revolver magazine. It was a pity that no more bullets were found nearby, otherwise, Ian would have to thank nature for the gift - eighteen experience points, which would take a long time of reading to gain. Facts prove that only by being ruthless can one succeed.

"I still feel unsatisfied."

Ian gave himself a narration.

It has been said before.

The experience gained judgment of his [Student] profession is very flexible, which is why he feels that his system panel is like an unfinished game.

It cannot be said that there are many bugs, it can only be said that there are not too many restrictions.

"See you tomorrow night, Miss Who Doesn't Like to Wear Pants." Ian put down the photo in his hand, estimated the time of his return, and moved a table to the entrance of the bookstore.

Although there was no coffee or cakes, there was no shortage of pictures of these two items in the bookstore. Ian cut out several of them and placed them in front of the small table.

When people are bored to a certain extent, they will become a little abstract, but Ian feels that this is a sense of ritual. He would be suffocated every night without any activities to pass the time.

What a dead, silent world.

Isn't this just a prison?

Outside the dog hole that Ian had dug, snowflakes were floating around, and it was unusually quiet. Only occasionally would an icicle break off from the sign and pierce into the snow pile, making a crisp sound.

"Boom!"

Well, the sudden noise was not crisp, but very loud. Even the ground was shaking like thunder, which really scared Ian, who was used to silence.

The sudden noise was violent and dull. It was definitely not the sound of an icy spike falling to the ground. Instead, it sounded like a mountain collapsing and hitting the ground heavily!

"Oh my god, did something really fall from the sky?" Ian came to his senses and quickly stood up, skillfully crawling out of the dog hole he had dug at the door.

On the street.

The strong wind carrying ice chips was still howling.

And Ian's eyes widened in disbelief, and a figure as big as a hill was reflected in his eyes. That was the culprit who fell from the sky with a dull sound.

A figure that has been completely frozen in ice and snow just like this world...a green giant!
