(Jayden's PoV)
Pantora, I like this world.
I learned a lot here, I mean a lot.
After the Ruusan Reforms, most temples were closed, and everything related to the Jedi was done on Coruscant, under the eyes of the Senate.
This made the Jedi essentially a mysterious power that inspired both awe and hatred in people at the same time.
When there were temples open on almost every planet, the children were usually sent to the local temples, where they were trained on how to control their power, so that they wouldn't hurt others accidentally.
Now, with everyone shipped to a distant world of Coruscant, the parents of the children who awaken the Force see it more as a curse than a boon, as they would be losing their child and nothing to gain in return.
Now, after centuries, my master and I were the first to set foot in this temple, a discarded temple, but we made it our home for the past year.
There were no missions from the order in the past year.
Anyone with a brain could easily see that these temples hold not much of value, and whoever was sent places like these is essentially exiled, but still part of the Jedi Order.
It is a semi-exile, and that's what we both were experiencing.
They want us to be in order and follow their rules, but don't want us to be near the young ones to influence them into our path.
The council was supposed to be where different ideas were to be openly discussed, and the best would be chosen. That's how it was supposed to be, but it is not.
Some may think that it was paranoia, but think about Qui-gon Jinn. The council members themselves said that Qui-gon would have made a part of the council if not for his ideas that differed from the council's.
They excluded him because he didn't blindly follow the council. Though he accepted their rules, he didn't always agree with the council. I think he didn't want to fracture the Jedi Order, and that's why he didn't push too much.
If not for being a student of Dooku, he might have been pushed further outside. There was no way to verify that, as he died during the Naboo Crisis.
If not, maybe Jinn may have pushed for changes more vigorously, especially with the Sith appearing out in the open after centuries.
I know Yoda sent us here, but he couldn't have done without the council's permission. Many should have known about us. To reopen a temple that is far away, that is not a decision that even the Grandmaster of the Jedi Order can take.
A long time ago, those titles meant something, but not anymore.
It's not like one temple would be costing them much, but everything has to go through the council before it can become a decision.
This is to curb any risings like Jedi Lords or someone like that in the order, but what's wrong if they rise?
Sure, they can become like Sith, but Sith were not the only evil present in the galaxy. There are pirates, slavers, drug dealers, etc...
Planets have kings and queens ruling. So, if a Jedi lord rules a planet, there is nothing wrong with that.
Just because Sith used Sith Empire and the Jedi supported the Republic, it doesn't mean the Empire is bad and the Republic is good.
It depends on who the rulers are.
If Sith were the only bad ones, then they disappeared for a thousand years. Sure, they were planning in the background for years, but most was done in the recent centuries. For the first few centuries after their disappearance, the Jedi and the Republic had time to eliminate the crime lords from the galaxy, but they didn't.
The entire Hutt Space was outside Republic control, and that means anyone connected to the force didn't become a Jedi.
A new Sith-like threat might emerge from such spaces, but what did the Republic do?
Nothing.
They are afraid of losing their wealth in war, and instead chose fragmented peace, which came to bite them in the ass.
Instead, they targeted the good ones, just because they ruled worlds. If they were still ruling, maybe the world wouldn't have descended so low as they were now.
---
Anyway, the council may think that they have exiled us, for something we didn't do, but could have done, but that worked in our favour, well, my favour frankly.
To the Republic, the core worlds are the main worlds, as ten worlds from the core were the ones that formed the Republic in the first place.
The Later additions are to add tax revenue to the Republic's treasury.
Pantora is an Outer-Rim world, which makes it less important for the Republic. As long as there was tax, they don't care much about. In fact, not even the CIS showed much interest in this world.
They established an outpost on the main planet, but that was it.
As I said, it worked in our favour, in the form of the Pantoran Assembly and Supreme Chairman, Chi-Cho.
