Chapter 2 - Shadow Of Fear

The city of Ether was shrouded in an aura of dread, its streets lined with buildings that seemed to loom over its inhabitants like specters. The once-vibrant marketplaces now bustled with hushed whispers and furtive glances, as if the very walls had ears and the wind carried secrets.

In a small, dimly lit alleyway, a group of brown-eyed servants huddled together, their voices in a hushed tone. They spoke of the prophecy—of the curse that had been laid upon the city by the white old man. They spoke of the red-eyed child, the one who would bring destruction upon Ether.

"I've heard it's already born," one of them whispered, her eyes darting nervously around the alleyway. "I've heard it's growing stronger with each passing day."

The others nodded in agreement, their faces etched with fear. They knew the stories, the legends that had been passed down through generations. They knew that if the red-eyed child was not found and eliminated, the city would be doomed.

As they dispersed, a figure watched from the shadows. A figure with eyes that seemed to gleam in the darkness, eyes that seemed to hold a secret.

In a grand mansion on the other side of the city, a blue-eyed noble sat on a throne-like chair, his expression cold and calculating. He too spoke of the prophecy, his voice dripping with disdain.

"We must find the cursed child," he said to his advisor, a purple-eyed individual with an air of quiet intelligence. "We must eliminate the threat before it's too late."

The advisor nodded, her eyes flashing with a hint of unease. "But, milord, what if the child is not so easily found? What if it has been hidden and protected?"

The noble's expression turned glacial. "Then we will search until we find it. We will not rest until the curse is lifted and Ether is safe once more."

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting the city in a bloody orange glow, the inhabitants of Ether City prepared for another night of fear and uncertainty. The shadow of the curse loomed large, a constant reminder of the danger that lurked in every corner.

And in the midst of it all, a pair of eyes watched, waited, and perhaps even plotted. Eyes that seemed to burn with an inner fire, eyes that seemed to hold the very fate of Ether City within them.
