"Hehe! I said it before if Xiaoxiao wasn't confident, she would've asked me for backup. Since she didn't, I knew she had a plan. She's not one to act impulsively."
Leng Xin, the Psychic-type Elite and one of Xiaoxiao's mentors, responded with a calm smile, though a faint shiver betrayed his earlier anxiety.
In reality, Leng Xin had deployed scouts near the Electric Forest just in case a fact established in previous chapters (Chapter 112, when he discreetly gave orders to his personal aide).
"You sure picked up a treasure, Old Leng. You should be proud and jealous!"
Li Tianming, the Flying-type Elite, grinned teasingly, nudging Leng Xin with a smirk.
Everyone in the command room chuckled.
"No," Leng Xin said seriously, crossing his arms. "She's Huaxia's treasure—our future."
The joking atmosphere immediately turned solemn as the Elites nodded in silent agreement.
"Speaking of which, weren't the two students who ended up with the Zapdos eggs connected to the Lei family? Weren't they related to Lei Ting, the Hanwu Gym Leader?"
Long Jun, the Dragon-type Elite, raised a brow as he scrolled through the official incident report on his Pokédex. He zoomed in on the student registry logged during the Denki Forest crisis.
The Pokémon riot involving a Legendary Pokémon like Zapdos had prompted intervention from the Alliance's highest tier—though Chen Xiaoxiao and Lei Ting were the public faces, the Elites had dispatched undercover operatives (first mentioned in Chapter 113) to safeguard the forest and collect intel.
The camera footage shown in the command center came from miniature drone units embedded in the underbrush standard Alliance surveillance deployed during high-risk emergencies.
"That's correct. While they did act recklessly at first, they returned the Zapdos egg without resistance and helped defuse the situation. Also, Gym Leader Lei Ting coordinated the defense line the entire time," Leng Xin summarized. "So their missteps were balanced out by their cooperation. Thoughts?"
After a moment of silent consensus, the rest of the Elites nodded in approval.
"As long as the egg situation didn't leak to the public, we can consider this wrapped," said He Yong, the Water-type Elite, eyes narrowing.
"Did anything leak?" he asked, glancing at Leng Xin.
Without hesitation, Leng Xin opened a secure line from his Pokédex and called Chen Xiaoxiao.
"Xiaoxiao, has any information about the Zapdos egg been exposed?"
Within moments, Chen Xiaoxiao appeared on the conference room screen. She had stepped away from the treatment tents to answer the call privately.
"No. Only I, Gym Leader Lei Ting, and the two students involved know about the egg. I made sure no one else overheard," she replied firmly.
The Elites exchanged glances, nodding approvingly.
"Good. Maintain full secrecy. We'll handle the media narrative."
"I understand," said Chen Xiaoxiao.
After ending the call, Leng Xin turned to the others. "So we're clear—only the four of them and us know the full truth."
"Excellent," said Sun De. "We'll have the Communications Division craft a public report. No mention of the egg. We'll steer public opinion toward Zapdos's cooperation and the peaceful resolution. And with Zapdos retreating to the depths of Denki Forest, it's unlikely to surface again soon."
The rest of the Elites agreed.

After several hours of healing, the once-injured Electric-type Pokémon—Electivire, Manectric, Ampharos, and even lesser-seen species like Heliolisk and Magnezone—were fully recovered.
Some of the more docile Electric-types even gathered Sitrus and Oran Berries from the surrounding groves and offered them to the medical teams in gratitude.
The entire field was bathed in soft, late-afternoon light, and the once-chaotic battlefield had become a place of harmony.
Lei Ting, now visibly relieved, surveyed the scene with satisfaction.
Zapdos, now visibly calmer, called out to Chen Xiaoxiao in a warbling cry that expressed appreciation and respect.
"You've done well," Chen Xiaoxiao said gently, placing a hand on Zapdos's warm feathers. "Next time, be careful before charging headfirst."
Zapdos responded with a solemn nod before spreading its wings and launching into the sky in a burst of golden lightning.
"Take care, Zapdos!" Chen Xiaoxiao shouted.
Zapdos answered with one final electrified screech before disappearing into the clouds above the forest.
After parting ways with Zapdos, Chen Xiaoxiao debriefed with Gym Leader Lei Ting.
As evening approached, Lei Ting insisted on hosting a celebratory banquet. "It's out of my own pocket! No way the hero of the hour isn't attending!"
After some hesitation, Chen Xiaoxiao accepted.
The trainers, field medics, and supporting personnel many of whom had risked their lives were overjoyed by the invitation.
That night, the banquet was held at a hotel close to the Denki Forest. Chen Xiaoxiao, though not a heavy drinker, had a few sips of wine amidst laughter and celebration. Even stoic veterans like Gliscor's trainer cracked smiles.
After the banquet, she returned to the guest suite Lei Ting had arranged in the Pokémon Center's attached lodge and rested.

The Next Morning
Chen Xiaoxiao woke early and trained briefly with her Pokémon, as always. Afterward, she sent a message to Lei Ting thanking him for the lodging and notifying him of her departure.
Lei Ting, though regretful, understood.
"You're welcome in Hanwu any time. E Province will always have a spot for you," he said with a wink.
The hotel's location was conveniently close to the edge of Denki Forest. After checking out, Chen Xiaoxiao walked outside.
"Come out, Togekiss! Let's fly!"
With a flash of light, the graceful Fairy/Flying-type emerged. Chen Xiaoxiao climbed aboard, directed Togekiss toward Hanwu Airport, and took off.
Ten minutes later, they landed in a field near the airport. After thanking Togekiss and returning it to its Poké Ball, Chen Xiaoxiao teleported a short distance to the airport gates.

Inside Hanwu Airport
As she walked through the terminal, a girl nearby glanced at her Pokédex—and froze.
"Wait... isn't that Chen Xiaoxiao?!"
She tugged her companion's sleeve, showing the Pokédex screen.
"Whoa! It is! Look at her live profile—Zapdos, Denki Forest, Emergency Resolution. That's her!"
A few other bystanders overheard.
"Wow! She's even more beautiful in real life!"
Another girl squealed.
"My goddess! It's really her!"
An otaku in glasses pulled out a notepad and pen, eyes sparkling.
The sudden attention caused a ripple through the crowd. More and more people turned to look at Chen Xiaoxiao as whispers spread through the terminal.
"Huh? What's going on? Why do so many people recognize me?"
Chen Xiaoxiao stood frozen for a moment—surprised, amused, and slightly embarrassed.
