c110: Zapdos Is Injured!
After several rounds of fierce skill clashes, the battlefield was momentarily silent both sides had taken losses, but it was clear that the Electric army had suffered far more.
With tactical deployment, type advantage, and the presence of several Champion-tier Pokémon on their side, Chen Xiaoxiao's group held the upper hand. In contrast, the Electric Pokémon despite their numbers were disorganized, relying on emotion-fueled attacks without coordination.
Every time Solgaleo, Mega Metagross, or Latias unleashed a powerful move, they cleared out entire swathes of Electric-types: Magnezone, Electivire, Galvantula, and Luxray fell one after another.
But despite their momentum, no one on the allied side felt joy.
Their eyes repeatedly flicked up to the storm-filled sky.
Zapdos still hadn't moved.
Suddenly
Zapdos's sharp eyes locked onto Chen Xiaoxiao and Hall Master Lei, as if it had identified the commanding threats.
A high-pitched screech erupted from its throat one that shook the entire forest.
Crack!
Electricity coiled violently around Zapdos's body. Even from over a hundred meters away, the crackling arcs of plasma could be heard. The air itself began to hum from the tension.
"Not good!" Hall Master Lei's pupils contracted sharply. He was about to give a command when he heard
"Solgaleo! Protect against Zapdos's attack!" Chen Xiaoxiao called out immediately, her voice calm but urgent.
In her mind, she calculated quickly: Aside from Hall Master Lei's Electivire, no one else has a Champion-tier Pokémon with defensive capability.
If Zapdos launched a high-level move like Thunder, Zap Cannon, or even a Legendary-exclusive move such as Zap Surge, most trainers wouldn't survive it.
"We need to pull Zapdos's attention now before it wipes someone out!"
Just as she finished the thought, Solgaleo teleported mid-air, golden armor gleaming, and cast Protect, generating a shimmering energy barrier.
Zapdos shrieked again then fired a massive bolt of concentrated lightning, infused with Magnet-boosted force!
Boom!
The electric column struck the Protect barrier with devastating intensity.
For a moment, time seemed to stop.
Then the barrier held.
Cheers erupted below.
"Protect success!"
"We stopped it!"
Several trainers clapped and shouted in relief. But the danger wasn't over.
The Electric army agitated by Zapdos's action launched a new barrage of support fire, trying to overwhelm Solgaleo while its shield was still active.
"Electivire, Thunderbolt, intercept those hits!" Hall Master Lei bellowed.
Saffron-hued bolts crackled from Electivire's arms, slamming into the approaching attacks, disrupting their trajectories mid-air.
The rest of the trainers didn't stand idle:
"Nidoking, Earthquake!"
"Onix, Dragon Pulse!"
"Donphan, Stone Edge!"
"Excadrill, Drill Run!"
"Rhydon, use Rock Blast!"
The forest erupted with retaliation. Earth-shaking tremors, rock-based projectiles, and raw force surged into the front lines of the Electric Pokémon.
Seeing the moment, Chen Xiaoxiao turned to Lei:
"Master Lei, leave Zapdos to me! Latias!"
Latias swooped to her side, her Mega form shimmering with ethereal energy.
"Metagross, Sun Pokémon, keep suppressing the Electric-types! Meowstic, come with me!"
With swift grace, Chen Xiaoxiao leapt onto Latias, hugging Meowstic tightly. Behind her, Solgaleo teleported again hovering nearby as guardian.
Seeing them rise into the skies, Zapdos hesitated slightly its divine instinct sensing the aura of not one, but two Legendary-class Pokémon.
"Zapdos!" Chen Xiaoxiao shouted as Latias approached within 100 meters. "If someone stole something from you, we can help! Fighting solves nothing you'll only hurt yourself and innocent others!"
But Zapdos, enraged and irrational, let out a deafening shriek. Its body lit up again with electric fury.
Below, the watching trainers shouted
"Careful!"
"Get out of the way!"
Hall Master Lei clenched his fists but stayed silent. He knew Chen Xiaoxiao wouldn't act recklessly. He readied himself to intervene only if things went completely south.
Chen Xiaoxiao gritted her teeth.
"…I tried. You forced this."
"Latias, Protect! Solgaleo, use Stone Edge! Meowstic, use Helping Hand on Solgaleo!"
The air around Latias shimmered as a Protect barrier manifested.
Solgaleo roared, conjuring dozens of razor-edged rocks mid-air. Meowstic, perched on Chen's arm, glowed briefly amplifying Solgaleo's move with Helping Hand.
KRAK-BOOM!
Zapdos unleashed another enormous thunderbolt directly hitting Latias's barrier.
The shockwave rattled the sky. Chen Xiaoxiao wobbled but held firm atop her mount.
Then—
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Solgaleo's Stone Edge slammed into Zapdos's wings and torso. The Legendary bird reeled, its sharp cry echoing in the heavens!
Direct hit!
"Nice!"
"She got him!"
"Zapdos is hurt!"
Excitement swept through the ranks of trainers below. Even grizzled veterans let out cheers.
But Hall Master Lei was now even more serious.
"A wounded beast is most dangerous."
Even with its weakened condition, Zapdos still had Level 100 stats its pain would only fuel its fury.
Zapdos's eyes glowed blood-red. The Legendary shrieked again, voice warped with fury. It glared at Solgaleo as its feathers crackled ominously.
It was no longer defensive it was out for vengeance.
"Latias, Solgaleo! Lure it away!" Chen Xiaoxiao called out sharply.
The current battlefield so close to the allied trainers was far too risky.
Latias and Solgaleo darted away, flying toward the open skies above the distant hills.
Zapdos let out a high-pitched shriek of wrath and flapped its wings violently, chasing after them.
Its body surged with golden lightning.
From below, it looked like a vengeful thunder god cutting through the clouds.
Watching it chase them, Chen Xiaoxiao exhaled lightly.
"Just as planned."
She looked over her shoulder at the raging Zapdos and murmured:
"You're strong, but if you think I'm afraid of you… You're wrong."
