The Siena Revelation
*Arin's POV***
The twisted creature that resembled Kael swung its razor-sharp claws at me. Just as those lethal talons cut through the air where my head had been, I rolled to the side. Rocks and dirt flew everywhere as the creature made a hard landing.
Despite my heart breaking, I firmly told myself, "That's not Kael." "It simply appears to be him."
However, the fact that it had his voice, face, and even the scar on his left eyebrow from our childhood made it extremely difficult to believe.
"Arin, why are you fleeing from me?" The creature asked, cocking its head in the same way that Kael did when he was perplexed. "Do you no longer love me?"
I said, "You're not him," and slowly retreated. "I would never be harmed by Kael."
The sound of the creature's laughter was like glass shattering. However, I am him. Simply put, I've improved.
