Chapter 116 - Chapter 116: Four Kage vs One Uchiha!

On hearing Chiyu's words, Ōnoki did not grow angry. Instead, he let out a low chuckle.

"To be praised by the Hokage himself—well, that's an honor in its own right.

After all, the current Hokage is widely acknowledged as the strongest shinobi alive.

In my eyes, your power already rivals Madara Uchiha in his prime, perhaps even the so-called God of Shinobi, Hashirama Senju.

In today's ninja world, there's truly no one who can match you."

Ōnoki was qualified to say this. In the present day, very few people had ever seen Madara with their own eyes—let alone fought him as Ōnoki once had.

Chiyu's thoughts stirred—not because of the praise, but because…

Ōnoki's assessment was spot-on. He clearly knew he could not defeat Chiyu himself.

If so, how could the old Tsuchikage remain this calm?

He must have another card up his sleeve.

The Akatsuki? Or something else…

Chiyu recalled that in the original story Ōnoki and Iwagakure had long colluded with the Akatsuki, even being called out for hiring them at the Five Kage Summit.

Of course, for Chiyu, no "last resort" really mattered.

Ōnoki seemed to guess what was on Chiyu's mind.

Ōnoki: "Lord Hokage, there's something I'd like to know."

Chiyu: "Speak."

Ōnoki: "Why are you doing this? Forcing the four great villages to submit? You know that's impossible. Even Madara failed back then."

Chiyu (coldly): "Madara failed only because he wasn't strong enough—he was never a match for Hashirama.

Right now, I see no one who can stop me.

And I'm not forcing the four villages to submit—only your so-called Kage and high councils.

Obey me and there's no need for war.

Your Iwagakure army doesn't have to march to its death.

All of this bloodshed comes down to leaders like you who refuse change."

Chiyu's words were for Ōnoki—and for every stone-shinobi behind him.

The old fox heard the message clearly.

Ōnoki (smiling): "No need to sow discord. Iwagakure's shinobi are not so easily swayed.

Your 'reform' would turn every other village into your vassal and puppet. No great nation will ever accept that.

Trying to dress it up in pretty words is just a child's trick.

In the end you're no different from Madara: a man of boundless ambition who wants to unite the world by force."

Chiyu laughed.

Chiyu: "Call it ambition if you like. You let the entire shinobi world drown in endless wars, corpses piled high and rivers of blood—was that for peace?

The Five Great Villages have existed for barely a few decades; they're not some ancient mandate.

And in those short decades you've already started three wars that engulfed every nation.

Tell me, why do the Five Villages deserve to exist—

For peace or for war?"

Ōnoki was momentarily speechless.

Most people assumed that once a village was founded it should last forever, but Chiyu had exposed the flaw in that thinking.

Ōnoki (gravely): "The First Hokage founded Konoha to end clan feuds— and he succeeded.

Erasing divisions between villages, though, cannot be done overnight.

Perhaps one day it will happen—but not now.

Uchiha Chiyu, you're rushing headlong into disaster."

Chiyu: "So you admit what I'm doing is the logical next step?"

Ōnoki: "Even if it makes sense in theory, ignoring reality only breeds a greater catastrophe."

Chiyu: "Worse than three world wars?"

Ōnoki (silent).

Ōnoki: "Your ambition will never succeed. No matter how strong you are, you can't stand against the combined might of the four villages. You're making an enemy of the entire shinobi world!"

Chiyu (smiling): "Excellent. I'd hate to overlook anyone."

Ōnoki's face darkened.

"They say Uchiha are madmen—you are the maddest of all."

Chiyu: "Enough. Show your hand. I know you've been stalling; I only let you talk so I could wipe everything out at once."

Unembarrassed that his ploy was exposed, Ōnoki nodded.

"As expected of Uchiha Chiyu."

In the next instant—space rippled in front of Ōnoki.

Whoosh—

Something appeared out of thin air: a massive jar-like vessel.

Chiyu frowned; he recognized it—one of the Sage of Six Paths' five sacred treasures:

The Amber Purifying Pot!

Chiyu (to himself): "So that's it…

Mabui from Kumogakure used Heavenly Transfer to send the Amber Pot here—so someone from Kumo is sealed inside? Interesting…"

Mabui's Heavenly Transfer could teleport objects at the speed of light but not living beings—only the Third Raikage had ever survived such a transfer.

Kumo had found a workaround: seal a person inside the pot, teleport the pot, then release the seal.

As Chiyu spoke, Ōnoki unlocked the vessel. Emerging was—

Kumogakure's new Fifth Raikage, Yugito Nii!

Immediately afterward—

Hum—

Space twisted again; a vortex unfurled and stepping out was—

Kirigakure's Fourth Mizukage, Yagura Karatachi!

Neither he nor Kiri possessed teleportation ninjutsu—clearly the work of the man behind Yagura:

Uchiha Obito.

At the same moment Chiyu glanced skyward—brilliant particles of gold dust glittered in the sun.

Magnet Release: Sand Platform!

Only one person used gold dust flight:

Sunagakure's Fourth Kazekage, Rasa.

Suna lay closest to Konoha; he had obviously flown at top speed once he got the signal.

In a flash the four Kage now stood together before the Iwa army:

Third Tsuchikage, Ōnoki

Fifth Raikage, Yugito Nii

Fourth Mizukage, Yagura Karatachi

Fourth Kazekage, Rasa

The stone-shinobi erupted in cheers:

"Amazing! The four Kage fighting side by side—once in a lifetime!"

"No matter how strong that Uchiha is, he can't beat all four!"

"This battle will go down in history!"

Chiyu let out a mocking snort.

So that's the plan: knowing no single Kage can face me, wherever I appear the other three converge for a four-on-one.

Ōnoki, delighted, boomed:

"Well, Uchiha Chiyu? Didn't expect this, did you? When the Kage unite, even the Uchiha are done for!"

Chiyu merely shook his head.

"What a pity."

Ōnoki: "Pity?"

Chiyu: "That it isn't five Kage. Lacks a certain grandeur.

And your strength varies too much—you're far too weak."

Faces paled; anger flared.

Yugito (coldly): "Don't be arrogant! Four Kage plus the entire Iwa army—do you think you'll leave here alive?

I'll offer your head to the late Raikage, to Killer Bee, to Dodai!"

Rasa: "If the four of us together can't win, we'd have no face left to live."

Yagura said nothing; the mind within him—Uchiha Obito—would never underestimate Chiyu.

Even so, he still had his own trump cards.

Obito's plan was perfect: even if they failed to kill Chiyu, they would drain his chakra and dōjutsu power.

Then Pain's Six Paths—and Orochimaru's ultimate weapon, Edo-Tensei Hashirama—would finish the job.

Yet Chiyu laughed.

"So that's your flawless plan… Too bad the three of you left your main forces behind.

My shadow clones will butcher those armies all the more easily.

As for the so-called four Kage—come at me together.

I have no time to waste on you."

The four Kage erupted in fury, unleashing violent chakra as they roared and charged—

Four shadows against one Uchiha, the battlefield shaking beneath their clash.
