Chapter 75 - The Miracle of Love

"Where the Distance Between Hearts Fades"

For a while, silence settled over the table at the restaurant.

But this was not the same silence that had existed between them earlier. This silence carried a strange sense of peace. The faint smiles on both their faces felt as though spring had suddenly descended upon a withered garden, as though the colors of a rainbow had scattered across the sky, with every color carrying a new kind of happiness within it.

Ramish took a sip of his coffee.

The very next moment, he made a strange face.

"Richer… this is so bitter."

The moment Richer saw Ramish's expression, he could no longer hold back his laughter.

Laughing, he said,

"Oh, so you don't like black coffee?"

Ramish looked at him with slight surprise.

"Richer, are you laughing at me? I'm serious. This really is very bitter."

A playful sparkle appeared in Richer's eyes.

"Oh, my baby… if you drink it once or twice, you won't find it bitter anymore."

Ramish looked at him for a few moments.

Perhaps, to him, the bitterness of the coffee was not nearly as important as the smile that had returned to Richer's face.

He simply looked at him and smiled.

Then his eyes fell on the cup in front of Richer.

"All right, now you try mine. Let's see how much you like tea."

Richer smiled, took a sip of the tea, and then looked at Ramish.

Ramish asked curiously,

"How does it taste?"

With a smile, Richer replied,

"Ramish, it actually tastes pretty good."

Ramish immediately said playfully,

"See? I told you. My taste is pretty good… whether it's my taste in tea or my way of loving."

Richer gave him a mock glare, but the smile hiding on his lips had already betrayed his attempt to look serious.

He extended the cup of tea toward Ramish.

"Here. Drink your tea and enjoy it."

Ramish also pushed Richer's coffee toward him.

"Richer, I don't know how you can drink this."

Holding the cup, Richer replied,

"This is black coffee, without sugar. That's what I like. I didn't like it in the beginning either… but gradually, I got used to it."

Ramish nodded.

"I see…"

A few moments later, Ramish looked at Richer.

"Can I sit on the chair next to you?"

Richer looked at the sunlight passing through the glass window, then turned toward Ramish and smiled faintly.

"Yes. Come."

Ramish stood up and moved to the chair beside him.

Now they sat close to each other, holding their cups while looking at the view outside.

Beyond the glass, the bright world of Abu Dhabi was slowly being left behind, while the golden vastness of the desert waited in the distance.

They finished the last sips of their coffee and tea, but neither of them got up for a while.

It seemed as though they both wanted to preserve this brief moment of peace somewhere deep inside themselves.

After a long while, Ramish said softly,

"Richer… if you're ready, shall we go back to the car? We can continue our journey."

Richer nodded.

"Yes, let's go."

Ramish paid the bill, and the two of them walked out of the restaurant.

They had barely reached the car when Richer suddenly moved closer to Ramish.

He gently held Ramish's arm.

Ramish looked at him in surprise.

"What happened?"

Richer remained silent for a few moments before saying softly,

"Ramish… thank you."

Ramish smiled.

"For what?"

Richer did not answer.

There was simply a smile on his face that seemed to hold countless unspoken words.

Perhaps he was thanking Ramish for the peace he had given him.

Perhaps he was grateful that when he himself could not understand his own emotions, Ramish had still refused to leave him alone.

And perhaps…

he was also grateful that Ramish's presence had silenced the storm rising inside him, even if only for a few moments.

They continued walking toward the car.

The manager immediately looked at Richer.

"Sir, are you feeling better now?"

This time, Richer answered with a satisfied smile.

"Yes, I'm completely fine."

The manager breathed a sigh of relief.

"Then shall we continue the journey?"

Richer nodded.

"Yes, let's go."

Ramish had just opened the front passenger door when Richer stepped forward and closed it.

Ramish looked at him in surprise.

"What happened?"

Richer said casually,

"Ramish, you're sitting in the back with me."

A smile of happiness immediately spread across Ramish's face.

Without saying a word, he smiled and walked toward the back seat.

Richer was already sitting there.

The manager came close to Ramish and whispered,

"Sir, what did you do to make Mr. Richer's mood so much better?"

Ramish smiled and glanced toward Richer.

"It's the magic of love, Mr. Manager."

The manager smiled.

Ramish also took his seat beside Richer in the back.

The car once again set off toward the desert.

After a while, the city buildings disappeared behind them.

The desert had begun.

The wind carried grains of sand with it, lifting them from one place and carrying them to another. Here and there, distant sand dunes appeared like golden waves beneath the sunlight.

Richer looked out through the window.

Then his eyes settled on Ramish.

Ramish was silently watching the road stretching ahead. The long road disappearing into the distance, the silent desert on either side, and the gentle whisper of the wind… everything seemed to be telling the story of a long journey.

Richer watched him for a while.

Then, slowly, he moved closer to Ramish.

He slipped his arm around Ramish's arm and rested his head against his shoulder.

Ramish turned toward him in surprise.

In a soft voice, Richer said,

"Why are you looking at the view alone?"

Ramish simply looked at him.

With a faint smile, Richer said,

"You know, don't you… we're supposed to look at it together."

A gentle smile spread across Ramish's lips.

He turned his gaze back toward the window.

Now they sat together.

Outside, the desert continued to stretch endlessly, while inside, the distance between two hearts was slowly disappearing.

Every now and then, the driver glanced at them through the rearview mirror.

Perhaps by now, he had begun to understand the real reason behind the restlessness that had filled Richer's heart earlier.

Richer sitting so closely against Ramish was not exactly a declaration.

But silent gestures have a language of their own.

And perhaps, at that moment, Richer's silence was saying only one thing:

Ramish is not ordinary to me.

After almost an hour of travel, the car had entered deep into the vastness of the desert.

Now, as far as the eye could see, there was nothing but sand.

Eventually, the car stopped at a designated spot.

As he switched off the engine, the driver said,

"Sir, you can rest here for a while. The sunset view from here is also very beautiful. There are also different kinds of rides available here."

He paused for a moment before continuing,

"However, don't eat too much here. After this, the car will drive between the desert dunes, where there will be quite a lot of bumps."

Richer smiled.

"Okay."

The driver then looked at Ramish.

"Mr. Ramish, if you're free, we can go for a bike ride together."

Ramish immediately made a slightly nervous face.

He first looked at Richer, then at the driver.

"No, thank you very much for asking… but I'll ride with Richer."

He smiled.

"You can go with the manager. Enjoy the ride with him. We'll meet you right here after we finish our ride."

The moment Richer heard Ramish's words, a quiet smile spread across his face.

The heart that had been restless only a short while ago now seemed strangely at peace.

The two of them stepped out of the car.

The desert stretched before them, bathed in the golden light of the sun.

Behind them lay a long journey.

Ahead of them were countless paths through the desert.

And between them remained many questions whose answers were still waiting to be discovered.

Perhaps this journey was not simply about reaching the Abu Dhabi desert.

Perhaps it was also a journey toward the hidden destinations within their hearts—destinations whose paths were still unclear.

Would this day remain nothing more than a beautiful memory of a journey?

Or was the desert sand about to write a new chapter in their love story—a chapter after which neither of them would be able to turn away from the truth of their own hearts?
