Chapter 108 - Chapter 109: The Collapse of the Bloody Baron

The Bloody Baron found me in the Albanian forests. He wanted my return, but I refused, leading to a strong argument.

He killed me. My mother later died of grief.

After a long silence, Helena's expression returned to normal.

"This is what I want to tell you: Your pursuit of power and glory is too much, and it will lead you astray. I hope my deeds can serve as a warning to you. In this way, all my foolish actions may have their last bit of value."

She began to cry again as she spoke.

"Helena, this is not your fault."

The sorrowful woman raised her head and stared at him blankly.

What you did wasn't a mistake. You took your mother's crown, like a child taking their mother's lipstick.

The real cause of all this tragedy is the stupid Bloody Baron. I don't understand how, with Ms. Ravenclaw's wisdom, she would let such an impulsive murderer find you."

"You mean, none of this is my fault?"

"Of course not. If the Bloody Baron hadn't killed you out of anger, wouldn't all this be redeemable?"

I agreed, but many advised me to let it go. The Bloody Baron has suffered for millennia and likely reflected on his actions.

"Of course not." Damon sneered, "Why should we forgive people who make mistakes just because they feel guilty? Or something that is simply unforgivable!

Forgiving them is what Merlin would do. All we can do is send them to hell."

"I've never thought of it that way. Although I do hate the Bloody Baron, you're right. Forgiving him is Merlin's job. He did such a terrible thing to me. He even ruined my chance to see my mother one last time and repent! He deserves death!"

Helena's eyes brightened as she spoke.

"So, Bloody Baron, do you have the courage to accept this?"

 "Of course."

A bloody shadow floated forward, his terrifying appearance completely devoid of its former ferocity.

"I live to atone for my sins. No matter what Helena wants to do to me, I am willing."

Helena's eyes became hesitant and she looked at Damon, "What should I do to him? In fact, I feel sad even when I see him. No matter what I do to him, I can't undo the harm he has done to me."   "Well, from my point of view, death is the cruelest punishment - there is no doubt that he is dead, but there are still people in this world who remember him.

Only when no one discusses the Bloody Baron anymore, and no one talks about your ridiculous and miserable past with him, will he be truly dead.

But no matter what, he is no longer qualified to live in this world as a ghost.

If he really feels guilty, I think he should ascend to heaven now."

"Do you think this is enough?"

"Can you think of something more cruel? I even think that with his thick skin, anything you do extra can comfort him."

".Are you willing to help me? I want to leave this matter to you."

Helena looked at Damon. She really didn't want to face the Bloody Baron again.

"No problem, but let me be clear. Since you've chosen to hand it over to me, you can't interfere anymore."

 "Yes."

Daemon looked at the Bloody Baron. He was a noble, powerful ghost. Most of the ghosts in the castle were afraid of him, but for Daemon, that only made him more disgusted.

"Bloody Baron, Helena will never forgive you."

The bloody ghost's face was in pain, and he lamented.

"I know I have committed an unforgivable sin, and I can never make amends in this lifetime."

"No, of course you can make amends. This is the only thing you can do, but are you willing to do it?"

"What is it? Why don't you let Helena speak?"

"You hurt Helena, and yet you want the victim to face you? Is there anyone in the world as shameless as you?"

Damon sneered, his attitude reminiscent of a villain—but Helena didn't think he was going to turn into Voldemort.

"Then, what do you want me to do? I'll do anything to get Helena to forgive me even a little!"

"Then ascend to heaven immediately."   "What did you say?"

The Bloody Baron's eyes widened, as if he couldn't believe what he was hearing.

"I said, please stop clinging to anything in this world and ascend to heaven immediately."

"What nonsense are you talking about! When did I cling to anything? If Helena is willing to forgive me, I'd be willing to disappear immediately!"

The Bloody Baron roared angrily!

His aura was so intimidating that any other ghost standing before him would probably turn away in fear.

But Damon and Helena just stared at him silently.

"So?" Damon's steadfast gaze remained unwavering. "Helena will never forgive you. What you did doesn't deserve forgiveness at all.

But if you disappear now, at least she'll feel more comfortable for the rest of her life. Wouldn't you like that?"

"Of course I do, but I haven't atoneed yet."

A conflicted look crossed the Bloody Baron's face.

His words became vague. "Only when Helena forgives me will I ascend to heaven. Otherwise, I'll spend my whole life begging for her forgiveness."

"Look, what a disgusting fellow," Damon sneered, pointing at him and speaking to Helena beside him. "Even after I've told him this, even though his very existence is a source of harm to you, he still chooses to continue hurting you, and through this harm, he's trying to find a way for you to forgive him.

Bloody Baron, don't you think you're despicable?"

"No, I'm not like you say."

The Bloody Baron looked up in horror. He noticed that Helena's gaze had changed—no longer the entanglement of the past, but now filled with indifference and sarcasm.

"No, Helena. Don't look at me like that. I love you. I..."

"Look at you, such a despicable and disgusting person, yet you still expect forgiveness from others?

Bloody Baron, I say it again! If you disappear right now, it will be the greatest help to Helena. As for forgiveness? Do you think what you did was something like a child's quarrel?

You killed a young girl in her prime, ruining her life. You are a murderer who was furious because your love was not accepted and killed her in anger. You are as despicable as a maggot in the sewer. If you want Helena and me to look at you with respect for one last time, disappear from this world now, immediately, forever!"

"No! You are not right! You are not right!"

The Bloody Baron's roar echoed throughout Hogwarts, waking everyone. They didn't understand his madness.

.

First, Professor McGonagall appeared, followed by Snape and Professor Flitwick, and more professors gathered. Ghosts gathered in the sky.

Damon, unfazed by the crowd's stares, said, "You despicable bastard, you've sunk even lower in my estimation. Do you think this crowd can protect you?"

If you still have even a shred of conscience, you should immediately disappear from this world!

 Helena, tell him your decision!"

Helena, looking at the roaring Bloody Baron, felt he had never been so disgusting. Yet, for a few moments, she pitied him.

"Bloody Baron, I will never, ever forgive you!"

"No, Helena. Don't do this." The Bloody Phantom, trembling, looked at Helena with a wavering gaze.

"No!"
