Chapter 222 - DULK: Chapter 222

Arthas showed little interest in Raynare's threat, replying lazily, "Ah… that's troublesome, so…"

Seeming to agree with Raynare, Arthas nodded slightly. Frost gathered in his palm, forming two hand-sized ice shards.

"Let's silence them."

Before Raynare could react, the ice shards shot out at terrifying speed, catching up to the fleeing fallen angels and piercing their hearts with pinpoint accuracy.

The two fallen angels, thinking they'd escaped, hadn't reacted before the ice shards pierced their hearts.

Their faces showed disbelief; they couldn't even scream before turning into icy statues and plummeting from the sky.

How… could this power belong to a newly-reincarnated human?!

This terrifying strength rivaled mid-level… no, even high-level devils! In terms of fallen angels, it was at least a six-winged level.

What a joke. She was only a two-winged fallen angel. Why did she encounter such a formidable enemy?!

Confusion, bewilderment, and fear washed over Raynare as she tried to escape but found herself paralyzed.

Before absolute power, Raynare realized her own fragility.

"Please… spare me! I was momentarily blinded by madness. I'll do anything if you spare me."

As Arthas approached, Raynare adopted a sweet and docile demeanor, but Arthas remained unmoved, his cold greatsword still pointed at her.

However, Arthas's gaze remained unchanged—cold and merciless, like looking at weeds.

"No… no… no! You can't kill me! I… I am!"

"Consider it… revenge."

Remembering the boy who died because of him, Frostmourne struck mercilessly. The sound of freezing frost accompanied the dance of black feathers.

The fallen angel's body dissolved into light, saving Arthas the trouble of disposing of the corpse.

Only water stains remained to prove their existence.

After dealing with the fallen angels, Arthas breathed a sigh of relief. Asia's safety was secured, for now.

According to Rias, fallen angels operated in squads, each responsible for an area. This squad should have been responsible for this area.

Although Arthas had annihilated them, it would take time for reinforcements to arrive.

By then, Asia should be able to defend herself. Rias had said Asia was a talented devil; once she mastered her divine artifact, she would be nearly invincible.

While that might be an exaggeration, it highlighted Asia's artifact's power.

Arthas didn't tell Rias or Souna about eliminating the fallen angels. To them, Arthas remained a soldier with unlimited potential but currently weak.

Arthas knew that being too high-profile wasn't good. His existence as a devil created from eleven devil pieces was already shocking, let alone anything else.

If the higher-ups of the angels and fallen angels knew that he possessed the power of a high-level devil and a powerful divine artifact so soon after his reincarnation, they would try to eliminate him, just as Raynare had said.

His double life continued, narrowly avoiding exposure several times. Arthas, Rias, and Souna were growing increasingly weary of concealing his identity.

Just when Arthas thought this peaceful, albeit unusual, life would continue, a turning point arrived.

One evening, as Arthas was about to rest, a crimson magic circle flickered on the floor.

Undeniably, it was the Gremory family's sigil. The room filled with dazzling light, and a figure emerged from the circle.

A woman, with red hair…

"Rias? What are you doing here so late?" Arthas looked at Rias emerging from the magic circle, unsurprised by her frequent visits.

Usually, Rias would sneak into his bed while he was asleep, surprising him in the morning. This was the first time she'd come while he was still awake.

"Arthas, hug me."

"Huh?"

Arthas paused, before Rias moved with surprising speed, embracing him.
