Asia didn't fully understand Arthas's explanation; it was too complex. She simply knelt there, weeping silently, unsure what to do.

She was already burdened with guilt, sent to this small church—a polite way of saying reassignment, a less polite way of saying exile.

On her very first day, her colleague, the priest, was murdered, by a devil, a devil she knew.

That's why Asia was so panicked and distraught.

She didn't know how to answer the church's questions about what happened.

A devil she knew killed the priest?

The church wouldn't care about the priest's actions before his death; they would only care about how he died and who killed him.

"Were you close to that man?"

"Not really… we were just colleagues. We just met today; we were both assigned to this town's church."

Arthas asked, and Asia shook her head gently, her emotions calming down.

"Then it's fine. That priest was inconsequential to you. And that kind of scum isn't worth crying over."

Arthas said indifferently. Although his tone was harsh, Asia didn't mind.

Freed's actions had disgusted and angered Asia. A clergyman committing acts more brutal than a devil. She couldn't shed a tear for his death; she would rather weep for the innocent homeowner.

"But… but now that the priest is dead, I'm the only one left at the church… and if the church investigates, I don't know what to do. Should I betray Arthas-san?"

"Then, just defect."

"What?!"

Arthas said this, and Asia widened her eyes in surprise.

"De… defect?! Wh… what do you mean?"

"Defect. I'm a devil, so why not become a devil, too?"

Arthas smiled, looking at Asia's cute expression. She looked so cute he wanted to pinch her nose.

"Wh… how can I do that? Defection? I'm a nun, a messenger of God…"

"But now, you can't go back. Regardless of what you say, your colleague is dead. He was killed by me, a devil."

"Waaah…"

Asia cried out involuntarily at Arthas's words.

"And not only that, I'm a devil you know, a friend, even. What will the church think if they find out?"

"Waaah… Arthas-san… you're so sly."

Asia said tearfully. She knew Arthas was forcing her to leave with him, to abandon her life as a nun and join the devil faction.

In the past, Asia, with her unwavering faith, would never have agreed. But now, she couldn't help but be tempted.

Yes… Arthas-san is right. She had nothing left to cling to. As long as her faith remained, what did it matter if she walked with a devil?

If Father Freed's actions were justice, faith, and righteousness, then… she would rather be a devil, representing evil!

Thinking this, Asia's gaze hardened, and she made her decision.

"I… I'll go with you, Arthas-san. Take me away from here."

Seeing Asia's timid words, Arthas smiled in satisfaction. He nodded gently, took Asia's hand, and left the house.

Leaving the victim's house, however, left Arthas struggling with what to do next.

Souna knew about Arthas helping Rias with her requests. She couldn't interfere; before midnight, Arthas was still Rias's familiar. He only needed to return home before midnight.

But now… Arthas looked at Asia beside him. Was it really okay to take her back like this?

But he didn't know where else to go, not knowing where Rias lived.

Souna probably wouldn't mind, right?

Standing before his familiar house, Arthas hesitated.

"Um… Arthas-san, what's wrong? You seem troubled."

Seeing Arthas's troubled expression, Asia asked.

"Nothing… come on, let's go in. The person inside is my… master. Don't worry; she's kind. You don't need to be afraid."

"Oh… Arthas-san's master? Is she a powerful high-ranking devil?"

Hearing Arthas, Asia seemed nervous.

"Yes, you could say that. My situation is complicated. I'll explain later."

Arthas chuckled wryly. Explaining that he was two devils' familiar wouldn't be easy.

The lights were on inside; Souna hadn't gone to bed yet. Knowing she was waiting for him, Arthas felt a touch of warmth.

"You're back? I sensed an unpleasant aura; I thought it was some blind exorcist, but it seems not?"

Seeing Arthas and Asia enter, Souna raised an eyebrow, pushing up her glasses, curiously staring at Asia.

"Care to introduce this little nun?"

Souna said, sensing the divine artifact's aura from Asia.

"This is Asia. Due to certain circumstances, she's with me now. Don't worry, Souna-nee; she knows our identities."

Being called "Souna-nee" in front of a stranger made Souna blush slightly. She quickly recovered, clearing her throat.

"I see… so she's a familiar you found for Rias?"

Souna's slightly sour tone made Arthas chuckle helplessly.
