Kuro Usagi felt a wave of dizziness and collapsed onto the ground.
The cliff known as the "edge of the world" marked the end of eight major rivers in the Little Garden, the Tritonis Great Falls. And the commonality of the water god residing nearby was either a dragon or a serpent god.
"Seriously… seriously… what kind of problem children are these…!"
"There's no time for tears. If those are indeed the people you're looking for, you'd better hurry. The water god's competition is selecting participants; you might still make it. Get on my back."
"Ah, yes—Whoa!"
Just as Kuro Usagi was about to mount the horse, the ground shook violently, a roar echoing through the forest. Everyone looked towards the river; several massive water columns, visible to the naked eye, erupted in the distance.
This was impossible during a normal competition.
"I'm sorry, but it seems I should go myself."
"Ugh… I hate to send a young lady into danger alone… but do you think I'm not up to it?"
"Yes, if something happens, I might not be able to protect you. It's rude to say, but you're faster."
The unicorn smiled wryly and stepped back a few paces.
"Please be careful, and give my regards to your problem children."
Kuro Usagi nodded, her expression tense, and sprinted towards the Tritonis River. Her figure instantly vanished, faster than the wind, a blur of motion through the forest.
Her vision opened up, and in moments, Kuro Usagi reached the riverbank.
"It should be around here…"
"Oh my, isn't this Kuro Usagi? Why's your hair changed color?"
A detestable, familiar voice echoed from behind. Sakamaki Izayoi seemed unharmed.
Kuro Usagi felt a wave of relief—no, not at all. Her patience with Sakamaki Izayoi had reached its limit. Kuro Usagi spun around, furious.
"Seriously! Where the hell did you go?! And you dragged Arthas-sama into this mess!"
"I just went to the 'edge of the world.' Hey, don't be so angry,"
Sakamaki Izayoi's smirk remained. He wasn't injured, so there was nothing to worry about. The only difference from moments ago was that he was even wetter.
"But your legwork is pretty good, though. Even though it was just a game, I didn't expect you to catch up so quickly."
"Hmph, of course. Kuro Usagi is a noble race, praised as 'Little Garden nobility.' Therefore, I, Kuro Usagi…"
Eh? Kuro Usagi sensed something was wrong.
Only Sakamaki Izayoi was there, and he seemed to have been standing there for a while.

Kuro Usagi's face paled. She looked around, her voice trembling.
"W-where's Arthas-sama?!"
"Oh, Arthas… he should be having a pleasant chat with the Serpent God. That guy, for some reason, his eyes lit up when he heard he could get any reward he wanted. He looked like a terrifying hungry wolf."
Remembering Arthas's expression, Sakamaki Izayoi still seemed shaken. Kuro Usagi's face grew even worse.
"What… what's going on?! Sakamaki Izayoi-kun, why didn't you stop him?! That's a god! A Serpent God!"
"It's just a big snake, right? No match for Arthas. He'd be instantly killed."
Sakamaki Izayoi said lazily. Kuro Usagi shook her head anxiously.
"Don't underestimate any god. Their power is beyond your imagination! Arthas is strong, but his power is linked to water, and controlling water is the Serpent God's specialty."
Kuro Usagi couldn't bear to imagine it further. Arthas was strong, but his power was tied to water, while the Serpent God controlled water.
Arthas would be completely at a disadvantage, completely outmatched!
"No… stop fooling around! Let's go quickly! If we hurry, we might still be able to stop them!"
Kuro Usagi said, pulling Sakamaki Izayoi, but he stubbornly shook his head, remaining where he was.
"I'm not going… that guy's serious. While I really want to fight him properly, that guy when he's serious… gives me a deep sense of fear. Do you think that's why I'm standing here, too scared to even watch?"
