Heidi stood at the door of Philip Allen's office, her expression conflicted. She hesitated for a long time before finally knocking.
"Come in."
Hearing the steady male voice from inside, Heidi turned the doorknob and walked in.
"Philip, I heard you were back, so I came by to see you," Heidi said with a gentle smile. "You've been back for a while now, why didn't you let me know?"
"Heidi, I think you understand what I mean," Philip replied, looking up at her with calm eyes and an emotionless tone.
Heidi felt a sharp pain in her chest, her nails digging into her palm. "Philip, do we really have to end up like this? You're not secure in your position right now. With the Wang family's help, you could..."
"Heidi, I don't need any help from you," Philip interrupted, his words cutting and final.
"I told you a long time ago, the only person I love is Crystal Foster. Even though she's gone, she'll always live in my heart. Don't waste your time on me; it's not worth it."
