Chapter 47 - Chapter 47: The Wish

"I hope Nancy and the other researchers at the base won't do anything stupid while I'm away," muttered the scientist, after leaving the base aboard an aircraft from a Hoi-Poi Capsule.

Gorou had managed to restore the crystal balls to their normal state from their stone form, thanks to the Room of Time.

Of course, the help of General Blue, undisturbed by Goku, had been invaluable.

All these factors had led to the current situation.

Gorou was leaving the Millennium base, since he wanted to make his wish without some third party coming to ask for... panties.

After all, this world was still a semi-serious manga with certain characters possessing toonforce.

He didn't want to take stupid risks.

"...This island seems deserted enough."

After a perfect landing, thanks to his theoretical knowledge of aviation and [Great Sage], Gorou placed the crystal balls in front of him, then drew a magic teleportation circle on them.

Once the task was completed, he mentally prepared to summon the most iconic entity of this universe, aside from Goku and his close ones.

"Appear, Shenron!"

Once the words were spoken, magical fluctuations began manifesting on a large scale around him.

'Incredible... The world itself seems influenced by these balls. Great Sage, analyze this phenomenon.'

Gorou didn't intend to remain dependent on the crystal balls like Goku and the others.

He wanted to use the unique skill [Creator] to imitate Shenron's ability, since he found it practical.

After all, Creator was a quasi-omnipotent power in a way, but the limitation of his "desire" remained bothersome.

[Affirmative. I will analyze the phenomenon caused by the crystal balls using the additional skills All of Creation, Analytical Appraisal and the unique skill Creator.]

The response from the unique skill satisfied its host.

The additional skill Analytical Appraisal allowed obtaining information about a target through various data provided consciously or unconsciously by it.

As for the skill All of Creation? It allowed understanding any phenomenon perceived by his senses, with one condition:

he had to have a basic understanding of the observed phenomenon.

And the additional skill Analysis? It did exactly what its name indicated: study the target in order to reproduce it in case of success.

Of course, Gorou didn't need to necessarily consume the target like Rimuru.

He just had to accumulate enough information using his mana, which he sent like a wave through Analytical Appraisal, then retrieved to analyze the data.

[Great Sage] additionally used the Creator skill to increase the chances of success of this maneuver.

"Tell me your wish, but be careful with your desires, for they will come true."

The immense dragon stood before Gorou, who observed it while using several skills at the same time.

"I wish to obtain all the things I've written in this notebook."

After pulling out a notebook, the dragon fell silent and stared at Gorou as if he were shameless trash.

The staring contest lasted a moment before Shenron opened his imposing jaw again to speak:

"You're asking for an enormous amount of things, and certain elements are linked to extremely powerful individuals... This is beyond my power."

A limitation that Gorou had already considered, but he wanted to try anyway.

After all, how could he know without attempting?

"I'll settle for the first page. Is that doable?"

At the shameless human's question, the Asian dragon's eyes glowed with a reddish gleam.

After a few seconds, a capsule familiar to Gorou appeared in a small cloud of smoke.

"You will find all the knowledge and organic materials that I was able to gather with my abilities within this capsule. But beware..."

The dragon's voice took on a warning tone as it brought its immense head closer to Gorou.

"Knowledge is a sweet poison... and it seems you're one of those who appreciate this poison."

Gorou wanted to retort, but the dragon moved away without giving him the slightest chance to argue.

After saying goodbye, the dragon returned to the crystal balls and scattered them in different directions.

Unfortunately for the magical entity, it had never met someone like Gorou.

He simply teleported the crystal balls to his location, before storing everything in his plane.

As for the idea of using the time room again to accelerate Shenron's recovery, he relegated it to the background for now.

One must understand that time manipulation wasn't an easy thing to accomplish.

Unlike Ford Pines' interdimensional travel machine, it used an energy source extremely difficult to renew in a short time.

Although he could ask for a large quantity of this rare fuel, he wasn't sure Shenron would grant it to him.

He preferred not to bet on it.

That's why he decided to conserve it for his future ki training projects.

"Did you succeed in your task?" During the return flight, Gorou inquired about the order given to [Great Sage].

"Affirmative, but I must specify to the host that this magic requires an amount of energy corresponding to the wish and that it is aligned with good."

Gorou already expected a positive response, but also a bothersome usage condition.

Currently, Kami was clearly stronger than Gorou.

So, the wish magic would be heavily limited by Gorou due to his weakness.

As for the reason for the good alignment mentioned by [Great Sage], this had to do with the very nature of the crystal balls.

"If I abuse this power, could I end up corrupted?"

"It's possible, but you would have to use wish magic intensively in an irresponsible manner without paying attention to my warnings."

This question and answer might be confusing, but one must understand that Shenron's power had already turned into an evil power.

A logically impossible phenomenon, since the crystal balls were randomly scattered throughout the world.

An ordinary human could never find them repeatedly during their lifetime, but Goku and his friends had a special radar.

They had made several selfish wishes repeatedly without giving the crystal balls time to evacuate the negative energy accumulated by their desires.

Finally, this had given birth to an evil dragon: Black Smoke Shenron.

"I see... this magic will need to be used with caution in the future."

[Affirmative.]

The reliable response from [Great Sage] lifted his spirits, after he had glimpsed a potential problem.

"Anyway, I have the unique skill Creator and the Yuuki model."

Mental corruption? That would be useless against a mana holder in his mind.

He would just need to rewrite the information that overexploited wish magic would attempt to modify.

Author's note: No, the protagonist isn't sufficiently OP according to Tensura standards or other universes like Lord of the Mysteries (manipulating reality isn't incredible there).

Here is yesterday's bonus chapter (yeah, I forgot to post it).
