As Stars glimmered and the full moon hung like painting in mourning, as the clouds began to weep, Huray stood atop of the apartment building body wet as the rain poured down his face, right above Ethan who has been lying unconscious for weeks now,
"Huray, are you ok? You have been up here for hours… you're going to get a cold" Clair appeared wearing a jacket, her voice soft but edged with concern.
"Yeah, I am fine, I just wish he'd wake up now" Huray answered, still staring at the horizon
Clair sat down at the edge of the building "I know, but you have been up here every day since" Clair said, her blond hair danced with the wind, as if it had a mind of its own
"Here try this, it might make you feel better." Clair offered, voice trembling slightly, sticking her hands out to Huray, a piece of soft warm bread Lay in her hands, her cheeks flushed red
"Okay?" Huray says, as he takes it and stuffs it in his mouth
"So how is it" Clair asks twirling here hair with her finger
"It is actually pretty good" Huray laughs, as his laugh faded so did his smile, as the warmth from Huray's face was gone, something wrong something that absorbs light itself something darker than the sky around them
"What's with that funny face??? Did you see a -" Claire's question interrupted by the shadow lunging—silent, fast, final. The Shadows massive almost ghostly talons wrap around Clair as she screams .Huray ran to the edge of the building and leapt-five stories up.
but he didn't leap far enough,
she was gone. Just sky. Just silence, Huray couldn't breathe as he free falls down the building. Huray clenched his fists.
"Why didn't I jump sooner?" His voice cracked as the silence echoed Clair's scream. He felt himself falling—not just through the sky, but into grief itself.
The silence echoing Clair's screams still echoing in his mind, "I'm going to kill you," Huray vowed, voice shaking. "If it's the last thing I do.". Ethan's body twitches and glows so bright. It was Blinding, Huray shut his eyes before he went blind, as he opened them again to see a ruin, he was no longer, falling, but in a ruin
"Where am I?" Huray says looking around the ruin. He sees a painting of a wyvern pitch black as if a shadow itself
"What's this" he says reading the ancient inscriptions on the walls,
"A wyvern that ruled the world of shadows, till a hero was chosen by the god of men… to slay the wyvern, as it was defeated, it ran swearing to get revenge, as fast as it ruled, it had disappeared" Huray whispered, his hand gliding across the ruin, as another bright light he shut his eyes to find
He was on the ground, at the bottom of a five-story building. His nose dripped with liquid crimson back where Clair was kidnaped, Huray looking at the stars. "That had to be… The Wyvern of Shadows" Huray declared, he ran to his apartment to his room, grabbed his bag, then he realized he'll leave Ethan by himself, he walked to his room. He's still there sleeping…
"Okay… I still have to take care of you, so you are coming" Huray says putting Ethan in his bag, due to his small form
"Emma… Are you coming" Huray asks, as she appears from behind the wall
"Yes, I already saw everything" Emma answered her voice steady
"Alright then, let's go" Huray says voice steady, Emma and Huray leave with Ethan in their bag
"We need to tell Glinda. She has to know what we also need to let her know where we are going" Huray adds, as the clouds shout a lightning, as if it was warning they head there taking all alleyways. To avoid confrontation, when They got there, Huray Slammed the guild doors open as thunder growls, and 3 seconds later lightning strike cleared the sky behind him,
"I need to speak to Glinda," Huray shouted. A fresh line of blood slid from his nose— just as lightning split the sky behind him.
"Yes, what is it Huray" Glinda ran from behind the hallway
"A Wyvern took Clair" Huray says, his tone shaking
"What kind of Wyvern" Glinda's tone rose
"I think it was The Wyvern of Shadows" Huray says, his voice clear as day
Everyone in the room gasped. Glinda was shocked as well, surprisingly.
"Me and Emma and Ethan are going" Huray says, voice as steady as a river.
"Ethans awake?" Glinda says, her eyes look around
"No, he is in my bag" Huray says
"Is that a good idea" Glinda asks with a bit of disbelief,
"I am sure he'll be fine, but we need to leave before it is too late" Huray says with urgency
"Alright, I will inform the guild" Glinda sighs
"Emma, are you ready?" Huray asks, turning his head to her.
"Yes, I am" Emma says with certainty,
"Alright let's go" Huray says as he heads out of the guild with Emma.
"Be careful out there" Glinda shouts,
"We Will" Huray and Emma shouts back as they step out of, they guild
