Chapter 126 - Chapter 126: Yamato

With Momonosuke dealt with, only Kaito and Kalifa remained on this empty ground. Momonosuke and the others had all turned to ash, now drifting away with the wind.

Kalifa slowly approached Kaito, her expression hesitant, as if she wanted to say something but held back.

Kaito thought maybe she'd softened and asked,

"What's wrong? Do you think my methods were too cruel?"

Kalifa quickly shook her head. How could she think Kaito was cruel? She just wanted to confirm who that disgusting person was from earlier in the Flower Capital—someone Kaito had said made him feel sick just thinking about.

"No, Boss. I wanted to ask—who exactly was that disgusting guy you mentioned before? Was it one of those five just now?"

"Yeah, it was that kid. His name's Momonosuke."

"Oh, so it was him? Makes sense. That brat definitely seemed like bad news."

"As expected from my secretary—your judgment's just as sharp as mine!"

"Thanks for the compliment, Boss!"

After some light teasing, Kaito led Kalifa away from the spot, heading in the direction of Onigashima.

...

Onigashima.

The moment Kaito and Kalifa landed, a swarm of Beasts Pirates surrounded them tightly.

It really showed—members of a Yonko crew had far better awareness and combat discipline than the rabble on the seas.

But in front of Kaito, these were just oversized ants.

Kaito stood still, holding Kalifa's hand, then unleashed Almighty Push. The terrifying repulsive force instantly obliterated all the surrounding pirates.

Within just a few breaths, severed limbs and broken arms littered the area, painting a scene straight out of hell.

Kalifa looked at her boss with some disbelief—this was just gross.

Kaito was helpless too. Since his Rinnegan had awakened with seven tomoe, the surge in ocular power massively boosted its base abilities.

Now, even a regular Almighty Push from him, if he wasn't careful, could rival Pain's Almighty Push during his fight as the Deva Path.

It was a relief there were only enemies around. If there had been allies nearby, it would have been a disaster.

Power this strong was a double-edged sword—it was such a pain to control.

Kaito silently bragged to himself again while Kalifa glanced around and asked,

"Boss, you made such a big scene—why hasn't Kaido appeared yet?"

Kaito shook his head calmly,

"Don't bother looking. Kaido's not on this island."

"Then why are we here?"

"Not for anything important. Just to make a statement. Show those five old men something so they stop suspecting I stole the Op-Op Fruit. Do I look like that kind of person?"

"...No."

Kalifa sighed, knowing full well Kaito had absorbed the Op-Op Fruit's power—after all, he had even used its abilities in a twisted way to give her and Ain an X-ray…

Thinking of that, Kalifa looked at Kaito with growing suspicion, making him increasingly uncomfortable.

Clearing his throat twice, Kaito took Kalifa's hand and their bodies began to slowly rise.

Suddenly, a sharp female voice rang out,

"Stop right there! Who messed this place up like this?!"

As the voice faded, a tall woman appeared below them, wielding a black spiked club.

She wore a sleeveless white kimono, looked about twenty, with striking features and long white hair fading from green to blue at the tips. On her head were a pair of red, bull-like horns.

Strangely, she wore what looked like special shackles around her wrists.

Kalifa studied the newcomer and asked,

"Who is she? She looks so unusual... some kind of rare species?"

Kaito wasn't unfamiliar with the woman below. He said,

"See those horns? That's Yamato. She's Kaido's daughter, so like him, she belongs to the Oni race."

"Kaido's daughter!?"

Kalifa gasped, covering her mouth, then looked again with intense curiosity.

Yamato glared up at the two in the air, overhearing their whispered conversation. It was clear from her gaze they were talking about her.

Yamato's straightforward nature made this public gossip sting. Her face flushed deep red.

Gripping her spiked club tightly, she spat out a breath of white chill that wrapped around her weapon.

Fuming, she aimed her frost-coated club at Kaito and Kalifa and swung fiercely.

A blade of biting cold shot toward the airborne pair at lightning speed. Yamato pressed her lips tight, waiting for them to turn to ice statues.

But Kaito simply extended a hand, pinched the cold energy, and with gentle pressure, crushed it into drifting white smoke—leaving Yamato stunned below.

After breaking her attack, Kaito looked at his icy palm and murmured,

"Kaido's kid for sure. This attack alone shows Yamato already has the strength to match an ordinary Shichibukai."

Following the original anime's timeline, Ace would come here to cause trouble in a few years, but Kaido wouldn't be around. Ace would fight Yamato then, and it'd be a close match.

But that event probably wouldn't happen now—Ace had been pushed into joining the Revolutionary Army by Kaito himself...

Shaking off the thought, Kaito fixed his gaze on Yamato below. She'd had a rough childhood, missing out on a normal upbringing, leaving her mentally scarred, influenced badly by that idiot Oden's antics.

Plus, she'd accidentally found Oden's diary. Trapped by a lack of freedom from a young age, she'd found spiritual comfort in it—even wanting to change her name to Kozuki Oden. Talk about a devoted fan.

Looking at Yamato's "wise" big eyes, Kaito suddenly felt a strange anger. To think that fool Oden even had a "brain-dead fan" like her—did he really deserve that?

Kaito decided it was time to teach Yamato a lesson. After all, even Ace had been recruited into the Revolutionary Army by him; making Yamato understand just how dumb Oden was wouldn't be too hard.

With that thought, Kaito's gaze turned dangerous. Strange purple lights flickered in his Rinnegan eyes. Before any talking, a beating was definitely in order.

Yamato shivered, gripping her spiked club tighter as she stared up at Kaito. Somehow, she now felt the same dread she did as a child—about getting beaten by Kaido...
