Chapter 16 - 16

"I don't dare."

The male classmate heard her say that and had no choice but to take out his backpack, ready to change seats.

"No need."

Asher looked at him and signaled for him to sit down. Letting this woman sit beside him would just annoy him to death.

"Oh, okay."

The male classmate happily shoved his backpack back and smugly lifted his chin at Avery.

"If you won't let him switch with me, then I'll switch with you.

My desk and chair were messed up by some jerk and can't be used anymore."

Avery still wanted to act cute with him.

But Asher looked at her, and she immediately realized he was getting impatient.

So Avery shut her mouth unwillingly and went to the teacher to ask for a new desk and chair.

After all this, during the next break, none of the classmates dared to bully Avery anymore.

After all, she now dared to call the Cold King of Hell "hubby" left and right.

Who would dare mess with her? That would be disrespecting the Cold King of Hell.

And now, whether it was talking back or fighting, it seemed Avery wasn't someone easy to deal with.

Rose, Marga, and the rest of their group, more than ten people, sat together during break, gossiping and cursing about her for a long time, but none of them dared to go in front of her.

Avery heard the pointless insults and only found them childish.

She didn't care and just continued reading. Thankfully, the written language in this world was the same as the one from her previous world.

"Rose, when did that b*tch start getting close to the Cold King of Hell?

Now that it's like this, there's nothing we can do to her, right?"

Marga looked at the bruise on her leg from the fall, and she still couldn't accept it.

But without knowing their relationship, they didn't dare to mess with Avery again. If the Cold King of Hell stood up for her, that would be even more trouble.

"Before yesterday, Avery was someone we could easily control.

But overnight, she dared to threaten my mom.

She even went against the principal.

And most importantly, why would the Cold King of Hell help her?

Saying they have a relationship is hard to believe.

Because before yesterday, they had basically never spoken to each other. No interactions at all."

Rose thought about it all and felt something was off.

But she couldn't say exactly what was wrong, because Avery still looked exactly the same.

During class, Rose even examined her carefully, her face, her hair, her body, nothing had changed.

The only difference was her personality, and now she could fight.

Even though no one had seen her beat someone up, from home to school, not a single person had managed to touch her.

"Rose, do you think maybe we bullied her too much, and now her second personality got triggered?"

One of the girls who usually bullied Avery said this.

Otherwise, she couldn't figure out why someone would change so suddenly.

"Split personality. Now that you say it, that does seem possible.

But the current Avery, we can't beat her. What do we do?

Are we just going to let her walk all over us at school from now on?"

Marga sighed when she heard it might be split personality. Not only had she suffered today, but her dad also had to pay five million in compensation.

"Then let's just avoid her for the next couple of days. After all, she has Asher protecting her now.

Even the principal doesn't dare mess with her. If we don't avoid her, she'll end up bullying us to death."

Rose didn't really believe what they said about the split personality.

But there was nothing they could do now. If they tried to bully that bitch again and ended up angering Asher, they'd be in big trouble.

Avery heard them talk about a split personality and couldn't help but twitch the corner of her mouth.

If that illness is real, then she could switch her personality whenever she wanted.

It would be even more fun if she had a few more personalities. That way, she could play around however she liked.

"Avery, what are you smiling about?"

Miles came over carrying a chair and sat next to her.

"It's nothing. Why aren't you outside playing? Don't you get tired just sitting in the classroom all the time?"

Avery saw her sit down and put the book she was reading to the side.

"I just transferred here and I'm not familiar with the people or things around here.

But I just saw how cool you were. I really like that. Can we be friends?"

Miles looked at her with excitement. If she could be friends with a girl like this, they'd definitely have lots of fun together.

"We can be friends, but I don't like betrayal, lies, or being sold out. Can you handle that?"

Avery also wanted to try having a friend. After all, this world wasn't like the apocalypse anymore.

Sometimes when she went out to eat or shop or just hang out, it would be nice to have someone with her.

"Mhm! No wonder I feel like we really click. We have the same taste.

Don't worry, I can definitely do all that. It's great to meet you!

My name is Miles. I'll be turning 19 in two months. What about you?"

"Avery. I just turned 18 yesterday."

Avery reached out and shook her hand. This body's age really was young. It felt like she couldn't act like a big boss anymore.

"Then you're a few months younger than me. I'll call you little Avery from now on, hehe.

After school this afternoon, let's go out for a drink to celebrate, okay? Don't worry, it's on me."

When Miles talked about going out, she remembered what those people had said earlier.

She knew Avery had been kicked out of the Lu family, so she quickly added that last part.

"Okay."

Avery saw how enthusiastic she was and agreed easily.

They were both first-year college students, and there were no evening classes. Plus, this was a private school, and many students lived off campus.

"Avery, I'm sorry about earlier. My family does business with the Dong family, and I didn't dare offend them."

Li Ling, the girl who had wanted to speak up but stayed silent earlier, walked over and apologized to her.

"It's okay. I don't blame you."

Avery truly didn't care. She knew that Li Ling had always been the kindest to the original host.

She often secretly put money in her bag and even saved snacks for her.

But the only problem was that she didn't dare get too close to her in front of others.

Avery could understand that. After all, her family was just an ordinary one.

When dealing with a listed company, especially with families like theirs, it was easy for real rich families to control them.

Because she worried too much, the original host never dared to treat her as a real friend.
