Kai left the servant quarters under a barrage of curious stares. He didn't understand why everyone was looking at him. He glanced at Sylas several times, but the prince walked calmly, occasionally glancing back at him with a smile.
So Kai lowered his head and walked beside him.
As they passed through the corridor to the kitchen, they saw Alora carrying a tray. She looked cheerful again, but when she saw Kai, her eyes widened.
"Are you leaving already?" the girl asked.
Her words made the three of them stop.
Kai looked down and nodded politely.
Sylas glanced at the girl who seemed to know Kai.
Alora looked at Sylas in surprise. She immediately bowed respectfully.
"Your Highness… I'm sorry to delay your way." She stepped aside at once, though her eyes were still smiling at Kai.
"No problem. Do you know Kai?" Sylas asked.
Alora smiled politely. "We just met and talked today. But I already consider Kai my friend, Your Highness."
