Wizard magic is divided into many categories.
There are defensive magics used for protection, and magics responsible for attack. There are also black magics with cruel effects, and mind magics that can control the psyche. Beyond these magics, there are also ancient magics.
Outside of wizard magic, there are also the mage systems of Kamar-Taj and Asgard. Even beyond this world, there are different systems.
These magics are complex with various names. But fundamentally, these are all magic.
Reaching the pinnacle in a certain field, even when encountering different magical systems, one can quickly master them through their own knowledge. John was like this, which is why he could quickly learn Asgardian magic and Kamar-Taj magic.
The two types of blood collected from the vampire territory—the magic-inhibiting blood's effects far exceeded imagination. Whether it was Asgardian magic, Kamar-Taj, or wizard magic, none of these magics could alter the blood.
"Magic-sealing."
John injected the blood into a crystal container. Watching the blood gradually permeate the crystal, turning it red, John gripped the crystal.
"A kind of curse that erodes magic." He narrowed his eyes, thoughtful.
In the field of magic prohibition, John also had experience. So-called magic prohibition was essentially expelling magical power. He had once forged a sword with demon-breaking power. It could cut through magic. That was one of his masterpieces, consuming enormous effort from the Wizard King.
But this single drop of blood accomplished what only the Wizard King could do. The blood contained high-level power that expelled magic. And wizard magic was a kind of rule. This meant the blood had the power to modify rules.
Magic could not affect it, which also meant John's people-finding magic likewise could not locate the blood's owner. This made him feel troubled. Work after returning was indeed not satisfactory.
Taking out another bottle of blood, John smelled the bloody scent. Half-vampire. He wondered if the two would have contact. Fortunately, there was quite a bit of this blood.
John dipped his wand in a little and silently recited an incantation. The blood at the wand tip turned into blood mist, and after floating up and just forming an arrow, it quickly exploded.
"They're staying together?"
Frowning, John had a headache. He had originally wanted to find the half-vampire, but the other party was staying with the magic-immune woman. Now it was troublesome—magic couldn't approach, causing tracking magic to fail as well.
Finding these two people was no longer something magic could solve.
"If magic can't solve it, then use technology."
John handed the matter over to London's police force. In London, the underground president's reputation was much more useful than in New York.
Sensing something wrong with that file, Fury immediately thought his supervised plan might have complications. Although Fury and Steve parted unhappily, there was one point where he was the same as Steve. That was holding the same attitude toward plans with complications.
Delay execution.
This project was authorized by the World Security Council. To delay execution, he needed to find people. Fury took the elevator to the top floor. The World Security Council was above S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters.
At this time, the World Security Council was also conducting a meeting. Alexander Pierce, who had met John once, was engaged in heated debate. A S.H.I.E.L.D. ship being hijacked by a group of pirates was simply absurd. As Secretary, Alexander needed to defend S.H.I.E.L.D.
When Fury entered, Alexander was arguing for him. They were not only superior and subordinate, but also good friends. Even the king of spies would be moved by such friendship.
When Fury was still a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, he had once saved Alexander's daughter during an operation. Because of this, he gained the other's appreciation.
Hearing of Fury's arrival, Alexander immediately ended the meeting. He walked out of the office, saw Fury, and half-jokingly teased, "Our offices are only 40 floors apart. If it weren't for the ship hijacking, you wouldn't come up?"
"If there were a nuclear war, I'd come too." Fury extended his hand to shake with Alexander, glancing at the meeting office and asking knowingly, "Busy?"
Hearing this insincere greeting, Alexander understood the other had a request, saying calmly, "Special appropriations can handle anything."
"I'm..." Fury's expression was somewhat unnatural, because this was hard to say, "here to ask for your help."
Having the perpetually stern-faced Fury say words asking for help was somewhat embarrassing. Especially when the request was about something he had strongly supported before but now wanted to change.
Alexander indicated for him to continue.
"I hope you can organize a vote. Project Insight needs to be delayed."
Hearing the other's intention, a flash of coldness passed through Alexander's eyes, though he hid it well. He said with difficulty, "Nick, you're not asking for help. This requires the subcommittee to hold very long hearings."
The implication was already obvious. This wasn't just about difficulty, but about a lot of trouble.
"Maybe there's no problem," Fury also had to swallow his pride, adopting a pleading attitude he wouldn't even show to the Avengers, "but I need to ensure everything is foolproof."
"What if there is a problem?" Alexander's coldness intensified.
Fury didn't notice this point. He said, "Then we should all be grateful we didn't send the helicarriers into the sky."
After hearing this suggestion, Alexander was silent for a while. He lowered his eyes, temporarily preventing Fury from seeing the killing intent in them. In Alexander's plan, Fury should have sent the sky carriers up. Now it seemed a different approach was needed.
"Alright," he pretended to be magnanimous, "but you have to get Iron Man to attend my niece's birthday party."
This was just an excuse—Fury was already on his blacklist. But he still said with a smile, "Not just a quick visit, he has to really enjoy himself."
His words seemed to treat Iron Man as S.H.I.E.L.D.'s private property. Fury frowned inwardly, but having a request, he still had to show attitude. At worst, he'd say some nice words to Tony.
Thinking this, Fury went downstairs and drove away. The vehicle traveled on the road. Fury didn't have the qualities a qualified driver should have. He drove while contacting Hill for conversation.
"I need you to come to Washington immediately. The situation is urgent."
"Give me four hours."
"Three hours. Over." The ugly face of exploiting employees was fully displayed on Fury.
What else could Agent Hill do? Of course, obediently come over.
After contacting Hill, Fury's mind was still pondering some previous matters. Originally, when he spoke to Steve about Project Insight, he was eloquent, believing it was a good opportunity to protect world security. After discovering problems, some concerns appeared in his mind.
The perfect Project Insight no longer seemed perfect to him, and even had great risks.
A red light appeared ahead. The vehicle stopped. A police car stopped next to Fury. He casually glanced over and saw two white police officers examining him with appraising looks.
