(Damon POV)
After I left Ember in the room, I mindlinked some of the most trusted guards to stand watch over my room and to prevent her from going out.
"Why didn't you tell her the person that you are going to mate with is Allison? How can you mate with someone that you hate? Someone who tried to poison you?" Beowulf began his ranting again.
I inhaled sharply, ignoring his words.
"Is it not better to mate with Ember? At least she saved you when she drank the poison. At least we have a connection with her. Aren't you surprised that not only can we touch her, we can also mate with her? This hasn't happened for the past hundred years, and you think it is just a coincidence?" He continued.
"I know it is not just a coincidence… I know there is more to her. But can't you see that we are running out of time? I need to protect the pack, and this is not the time that we should fight… I need you now more than ever." I clenched my fist.
