Boom!
Moments later, Nuclear Man's headless corpse slammed heavily into the ground.
Like a dead dog, it lay there completely motionless.
Thud!
More than ten seconds after that, the head that had been sent flying far away finally fell from the sky, crashing into the rocky mountains like a piece of discarded trash.
"His strength really was impressive. No wonder he managed to defeat Superman."
Alex nodded to himself.
This wasn't Alex showing off—he was simply stating the facts.
Although Nuclear Man had been utterly helpless before him and was killed instantly, judging from that brief exchange, Nuclear Man was genuinely powerful—clearly stronger than Superman.
It was only because Alex was now far, far stronger than Superman that the fight had ended in such a one-sided秒杀.
---
Beep! Beep! Beep!
Inside Luthor's base, warning alarms blared.
A line of shocking red text appeared on the screen:
"DECEASED."
Lex Luthor stared at the message, completely stunned.
Dead?
Nuclear Man… was killed?
And in such a short time?
Was this a joke?!
Had Alex really become this powerful?
Powerful enough to instantly kill someone who had crushed Superman?
Lex Luthor simply couldn't accept it.
---
[Mission complete. Congratulations, Host, you have received 20,000 Origin Points!]
[Detected surplus Origin Points. Would you like to use them immediately for enhancement?]
Alex, of course, had no idea what was happening on Luthor's end.
The moment Nuclear Man died, the system's notification rang out in his mind.
Alex immediately felt a surge of excitement.
Another easy 20,000 Origin Points—nice.
Naturally, he didn't hesitate.
He immediately used them to strengthen himself, gaining yet another noticeable boost in power.
However, after glancing at Nuclear Man's corpse, Alex fell briefly into thought.
He had no knowledge of this villain at all—no memory, no impression.
So he couldn't be sure whether this incident was truly over.
Was there someone else pulling the strings behind Nuclear Man?
If there really was a bigger mastermind, maybe it could trigger another mission.
Alex immediately activated his super hearing, monitoring the entirety of the United States, trying to catch any useful clues.
Unfortunately, luck wasn't on his side this time.
He heard nothing.
The reason was simple.
Ever since Superman had appeared, humanity had studied him extensively.
Many of Superman's abilities had gradually become public knowledge.
For example—super hearing.
Everyone knew that no sound anywhere on Earth could escape Superman's ears.
Under such circumstances, Lex Luthor had naturally taken precautions.
Whenever he carried out secret operations, he did so in completely soundproof environments.
That was why Alex couldn't hear anything related to Luthor.
"Forget it."
"In that case, I'll leave this matter to Superman and the others."
Alex didn't dwell on it further.
After a brief pause, he used his telekinesis to pick up Nuclear Man's two severed halves.
Boom!
With a sonic boom, Alex vanished and reappeared in the Arctic, inside the Fortress of Solitude.
---
"Alex… cough cough—you're back?"
A weak voice rang out.
Superman still looked utterly exhausted, his face pale as paper, as if he might collapse at any moment.
If Alex hadn't seen it himself, he never would've believed Superman could end up in such a miserable state.
Alex immediately looked toward Jor-El.
Jor-El shook his head.
"The Fortress lacks the necessary resources. For now, I can't heal Kal-El's injuries."
Alex nodded.
In that case, there was only one option left—take Superman to Krakoa.
"I'll take care of Clark. I should be able to heal him."
Alex spoke calmly to the two of them.
Of course, Alex knew perfectly well that even if he did nothing, Superman wouldn't die.
Even if he did, he'd eventually come back to life.
After all, in the movie universe, Superman definitely didn't die here.
But since Alex had a way to heal him now, there was no reason to stand by and do nothing.
"Then I'll leave him to you," Jor-El said without hesitation.
After knowing Alex for so long, Kal-El trusted him deeply.
Besides—who else could Jor-El rely on right now?
---
"Alex, you did it!"
"I knew you could!"
Superman's attention shifted to the corpse Alex had brought back, and his spirits lifted slightly.
Having fought Nuclear Man himself, Superman knew just how terrifyingly strong he was.
Letting someone like that roam free was deeply unsettling.
Thankfully, Alex had come through and taken him out.
Even if Superman wasn't entirely comfortable with Alex's lethal methods, he still felt a huge sense of relief.
"Jor-El, keep the body here."
"If you can, see if you can figure out where he came from."
"If not, wait until Clark recovers."
Alex gave Jor-El a few instructions and left Nuclear Man's corpse inside the Fortress.
"I'll do what I can," Jor-El replied after a brief pause.
---
"Come on, Clark. I'll take you to my homeland."
Alex helped Superman to his feet.
At those words, Superman immediately became curious.
Alex's homeland!
He had always been extremely curious about Alex's origins.
But Alex had always been vague, clearly unwilling to elaborate, and Superman hadn't pressed the issue.
Now, though, he was about to visit Alex's home with him.
After supporting Clark, Alex flipped his hand and brought out the Infinity Gauntlet.
A spatial gateway opened instantly.
"Let's go, Clark."
With a casual invitation, Alex stepped forward, taking Superman with him.
They vanished completely before Jor-El's eyes.
---
"What is this place?"
"It's beautiful!"
Standing inside a park in Krakoa, Superman looked around at the scenery that seemed straight out of a painting and couldn't help but marvel.
"It's His Majesty!"
"His Majesty has returned!"
"Quick, inform Professor Charles and the others—His Majesty is back!"
Excited voices rang out all around them.
